I priced some 18x10 and 18x12 Budnik wheels today. The 18x12 is $400 more than the same 18x10 per wheel. Anybody know why such a difference?

Ahh, only too well... You're probably in the same situation that I was in with the 17's I ordered from them. 17x11 was a standard size, but 17x12 was custom so it was pretty much double the cost.

I'm fairly certain they have to weld two hoops together in order to get the 12" width where as they only need one hoop for the 18x10, thus the higher price.

Here is the email reply they sent me when I requested a price. Pretty much explains things to me. Does anyone have a suggestion for less expensive 12" wide wheels?

The 17x11 is a standard sized wheel in the traditional outer rim, that is why the cost is much less than a fat-lip 17x11. The widest standard size in the fat-lip outer is a 17x10. Anything over this we would have to cut and weld 2 outers together to acheive the wider wheel, this is why it is $400 more per wheel compared to a 17x8 etc..

For the 18" diameters, the widest is either a 18x9.5 in a traditional outer rim, or a 18x10 in a fat-lip. This is why both the 11" and the 12" are the same price. Anything over the standard size is and up to 15" is the same price. In other words an 11", 12", 13", 14" or 15" are all the same prices. There is no difference in price between designs, for the most part it is all based off of diameter and widths. I know this is a lot of information, but if you get a chance give us a call and we can further help you. Thank you.
