I am thinking about picking up a mid-90's Corvette LT1 and am wondering how difficult it is to convert the harness to stand alone. Personal war stories welcome :-)

Brent,
go to LT1350.com, Dana is very knowledgable and helpful. He did a graft for my Monte that I am very happy with!

Same here. You can do it on your own with a schematic if you know anything about wiring, but if you don't feel confident about it, Dana is helpful. My only complaint is the pigtail for the aldl (scantool port) is not nearly long enough to reach inside the passenger compartment. It hangs near the header on the passenger side and the heat concerns me when my scanner is hooked up and the car is warm. It gets really hot. Besides, I can't really tune the car right without driving it to get real time rolling data because I have to stand next to the car with the hood up. If I had it to do over again, I would make sure the harness is done so that I could put the port inside the car.

Hey, thanks. I will take a look at the website. I have seen companies who will convert your harness to stand alone, but I feel that $300 is a tad much.

I had one very badly done conversion in my Camaro when I got it. I took it out and re-did it with the factory diagrams for reference and found it easy to understand. I've done one for my '55 from a factory harness as well. Email me if you want the diagrams and I'll send them to you if you want.
