Here are a couple of photos of my 68 Cougar, with 18 x 7.5" and 18 x 9" Motegi Racing Touge wheels installed. These are the same as the American Racing Chrome Rebel or Black Rebel wheels, but with a gunmetal grey finish. I switched the centre caps for American Racing versions, and peeled the fruity sticker off the spoke of each wheel with Japanese writing. LOL

Waiting to go behind these are some large brakes, but I didn't want to take a chance that the installation wouldn't be complete, keeping me from attending the All-Ford Nationals in Carlisle, PA last weekend ... where these photos were taken. We still have to play with the ride height, I want to bring the rear up a bit, and the front down a smidge maybe.

Those look perfect on that car. Nice choice. You mentioned ride height. I would leave the rear as is and bring the front down a little.

Thanks guys. The right side of the car is actually about 1/2" higher than the left, which seems to be a common old Cougar affliction. So we need to get it levelled out side to side, then go from there. The left front looks good, the left rear is a touch too low. Maybe if I can get the right front level with where the left is now, and then bring up the left rear to match the right rear, I'll be all set.

Just thought I'd mention tire info as well. Michelin Pilot Sports (off eBay last year for about $350 CAN, with maybe 20% wear). 225/45/18 fronts, and 245/45/18 rears.

There's not nearly enough Cougars on the road. I love that body style and the wheels look awesome! I actually like the styling better than the Mustang...that's probably a sacrilage.

Well, the old Cougars rusted away as bad as the Mustangs did. But people didn't care about them as much in the 70s and 80s, so a lot of them ended up crushed, or as parts cars for Mustangs.

I love early Mustangs too, but it's nice to have something different for the car shows and cruise nights.
