Is everyone registered now?

Almost.....................
Besides Bus Lic, they want a web address for my "business" which I don't have.
They didn't ask for this last year.

Apparently we have to wait for the badge holder to come in the mail. Is that the way it usually goes? I'll be a SEMA rookie this year so I'm pretty clueless.

I received and email confirmation and spoke to the person responsible for the registration confirmations 3 weeks ago. They said I was in anyway. All I know is, my flight and rental car have been booked and paid. They had no idea what category to put me in, I had to register as a "builder/fabricator"...whatever.

Yup.

They will send you the printed name tag that goes inside the badge holder. The badge holder you need to get at Registration when you get to the show. You bring the Name tag they send you and they place it in the badge holder and you are good to go. As a Builder/Fabricator you will probably get a magnetic "credit" card to swipe at the booths.

I just went threw the registration process as well, and since I missed last year (but did attend '03 & '04) I don't have the alumni code for this year, this brought up the red flags and now they want two proofs of business faxed to them within 10 business days!! Not so sure I can do this!!! What do I do now!!

I went last year without a problem. This year, they hassled me for my "web address" for my business. I through in the towel for this year. Next year I'll piggyback on one of my many friends in the industry.

Make a "Business card" with Photoshop :)

hdesign
09-08-2006, 08:48 AM
I don't think a business card or even a website will do this year. Since my business is pretty new and I do as much as possible with cash, I didn't have any tax records from last year. I ended up using a business check I received from a client. The business address and info was clearly shown on the check. The person I spoke to about it was pretty unresponsive to business cards and websites. Anyone can do that really.

I'm starting to get nervous about the badges we should be receiving prior to the show. I haven't gotten anything and it's already Sept.

I'm staying at the Palace Station resort/casino. Pretty far from the convention center so I'll be renting a car.

I have not registered yet. Going to try to get it done today... What else can I use for proof of business? I have bus card, and website addy.... They can call to confirm I am an employee for all I care.. "Consultant".....

But I am 1099'd not W2'd from the company.... So I won't have a paycheck from them for 06....
