Aloha, Susan and I are back from our 11 day honeymoon in Maui. What a beautiful place! The weather was great as usual and surprisingly different depending on where you were on the island. We swam and or snorkeled daily, did the Road to Hana (http://www.maui-info.com/hanatape.html) and for those of you familiar with it we drove all the way around (against the wishes of our rental car company). We drove to top of the Haleakala Volcano (http://www.nps.gov/hale/) at 10,000+ feet and froze our butts off, snorkeled at the Molokini crater (http://www.hawaiiactivities.com/index.cfm?activity=2CB89888-EF8E-4ABD-8F602242A137BDAB), "did" Lahaina (http://www.visitlahaina.com/), took a pineapple plantation tour (http://www.kapaluamaui.com/activities/adventure/pineapple.html) and took home bags of the best pineapples we have ever had. Susan was brave enough to swim under the Blue Pool waterfall (http://www.hawaiiweb.com/maui/html/sites/blue_angel_falls.html) too. It was so cold I could not get much deeper then my knees if you know what I mean. That's Susan in the water in front of the falls below. I just couldn't do it. We also enjoyed a Luau (http://www.oldlahainaluau.com/index_main.html) and a trip to 'Iao point (http://www.hawaiiweb.com/maui/html/sites/iao_valley_state_park.html).

We rented a condo in south Kihei (http://www.maui.cc/vmanakai.html) and I highly recommend it over a hotel if you plan to stay more then a few days. Having a fully stocked kitchen was great. It was literally right on the beach. Check out the view from our lani (balcony) below. The beach was mostly nice sand with a section of reef for snorkeling. I'm still shocked at how nice the snorkeling was right out front of our condo. We saw 80% of what we saw at the Molokini Crater and could spend all the time we wanted. Usually when we go on vacation we start looking forward to being home a couple of days from the end. This time it was all we could do to drag our selves to the airport and come home. If you ever go to Maui you have to get Maui Revealed (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0971727937/sr=8-1/qid=1149451052/ref=pd_bbs_1/104-8641725-7072750?_encoding=UTF8): The Ultimate Guidebook. It is an invaluable source of info and it has lots of things to do and places to visit not listed anywhere else.

Susan and I would like to thank everyone that pitched in on our wedding gift that made this vacation possible. It truly was the greatest vacation of our lives!

Mahalo Nui Loa!

Probably fun until you hit the return route on the opposite side. Then you'll wish you had a Jeep.

Makes me homesick for Hawaii!

Welcome back Larry. My Wife has been trying to get me to go to Hawaii for years now. She lived there for 2 years when she went to school at the University of Honolulu. I just don't know if I could take the plane trip.
