I have a 67 camaro. I am going to be switching over to multis and getting the DSE 3 inch kit. Which sway bar should I run an this setup? I want the best cornering ability, but due to being a college student I cannot afford a 3 link setup.

Would you guys go with the DSE and if so which sway bar? Is there anything else I should be looking at getting for the rear?

The front will be lowered 2 inch with Konis and Hotchkiss Springs. I will have the Guldstrand Mod done at that time as well. I have the addco sway up front.

So is this a good starting setup. I still have alot to do to the car so this will be my suspension for quite some time.

Any help will be greatly aprreciated.

There's a lot of info in the archives, enough to keep you reading for days. You may want to check some of them out.

David Pozzi has some great info on his homepage http://www.pozziracing.com/

Basically, you will likely not need a rear anti-sway bar.

For front springs, you may also want to consider an adjustable height setup. There is information on David's and my website. This setup is much easier to use when it comes time to adjust the front ride height.

But thanks for the info, I do know I have ALOT of reading to do, I just kinda wanted a good baseline to start from.

Ok, so did some reading. I am interested in the front setup that you are running Carl. However, I cannot find any info on Landrum site about the adjuster, I can only find springs info. Is there any modification needed in order for the front springs and adjuster to fit? I was thinking of running Konis as far as shocks.

I am understanding more about spring rates. Here is my major question now. How can I determine how far a car will be lowered depending on the spring rate of the leaf spring? Or is it not that easy. Lets say my 67 camaro has stock arms, 650lb landrum springs, 1 inch sway bar, konis and weighs 3000lb. What spring rate would I need to get about a 2.5 inch drop in the rear? This is considering the battery is relocated to the trunk.

And how does front spring rate act in regards to lowering the front?

I am sorry if these seem like stupid questions. But this is my first project car and I am attempting to learn and build most of it myself. I am really aiming at a daily driver, but that I can take to the track every weekend. I will say ride quality on the street is not a huge deal. I am still only 21.

BTW: I really like the stance of your car Carl.

As far as ride height, it seems to be a moving target. Every time I change something, tire size, leafs, whatever,it starts a wave of other adjustments.

Search this site for info on spring adjusters.Carl and Dave's site are a must read, and speedway motors.com has the adjusters and springs at a great price.

Also, if you want great advice and customer service, dse is worth the money. I used all dse stuff except for the spring and adusters.

The modifications are shown on my website. They are easy to do. There are also others here that have done the same installation and have posted their stories.

Unfortunately, it's not that easy. The spring rate is the load required to make the spring deflect 1". However, the initial arch and the rate of the spring determines what the ride height will be. Fine tuning of the rear ride height is often done using a small lowering block, but usually the DSE, Hotchkis, and Global West springs work well, are well designed, and offer a suitable ride height.

I am sorry if these seem like stupid questions. .

There is no such thing.

What kind of track driving?

So would I need to get the speedtech arms in order for the landrum springs and adjuster to fit? I have the stock arms now.

When I say track I mean a little of auto-x, and road racing circuits like Laguna Seca. I will also be driving heavy in the canyons.

Will the dse drop springs have enough spring rate for the track?

Should I play it safe and go with a 2 inch drop. Or will 3 inch not be too low. Its a 67, 255/20/17 tire, smallblock, no backseat, battery in trunk. I am worried that the DSE 175lb spring rate is too soft, and the 3 inch drop maybe a little low.

Thanks for all the help
