Just had to share this with somebody else. The car is a x55, 350, 3 speed car. Car has already been stripped and has all new sheetmetal, and I men all of it. Dash, firewall, roof, quarters, floors, new GM RS front clip, rockers, doors, its a new car!! Its been sitting for the last two months while we finished up the "shop Beater" project. But now the ball is rolling on it.

I just purchased the motor for it today from Keech Performance in FL, builders of the Baldwin motion 540's. Got a screaming deal on a 406 SBC with twins on top. Got the entire package, motor, turbos, blowoffs, fuel injection,fuel pump, computer, etc. Mainly turnkey minus piping and intercooler. And got a screaming deal, I think I've said that already. Motor dynoed at 1000 HP intercooled, but easily tunable to 600 HP and 87 octane fuel!! I am just so excited!!

Motor Specs
* Dart splayed cap block,
* Eagle steel crankshaft
* Steel h beam eagle rods with upgraded bolts
* JE turbo pistons
* Hellfire rings,
* Fully ported and polished brodix track one heads with 2.05/1.600 valves.
* Comp cams street roller cam
* Fully balanced
* Cometic head gaskets ect... the best.
* Turbonetics twin turbos with dual racegates,
* Two Turbonetics godzilla blowoff valves
* John Meaney big stuff EFI fuel management
* MSD pro billet distributor
* 72 lb msd injectors
* Aeromotive regulator and EFI fuel pump
* Ported TPIS intake manifold with 1000 CFM throttle body.
* Stefs oil pan
* Billet specialties tru trak pulley system
* Edelbrock aluminum water pump
Anyway here's some pics

Not officially!! But the guy is coming down next week with cash in hand and trailer in tow.

As far as screaming deal. Motor on Keech's site is $29K and soem change minus computer, pump, and other odds and ends. I only gave $19K for everything

Killer setup you've got coming along. And i'll be the first to say I think it's a very smart move to tame it down to only 600hp. Far too many people claim to want 1000hp but have no flippin idea exactly what they are getting into.

Post more pics as it progresses.

Looks good, but early warning for your sake:

Find out more details on that Comp "street roller" in the engine ASAP. If it's on a cast -8 core (which is what they come on out of the catalog) I would strongly recommend you swap it out for a billet -9 core. The cast "street rollers" have a nasty habit of losing lobes because the -8 cast cores are too soft. Also, the -8 cast cores do not get along with MSD's distributor gears (lost an engine to that problem, shredded the distributor and cam gear and the debris ate up everything.) The Comp cast core rollers are junk, both their "street" solid rollers and their hydraulic rollers. Unfortunately they seem fit to sell them on the cast cores out of the catalog, but you can order them custom on a billet core.

See if they gave you the cam card. If the part number ends in -8, I highly recommend you get a new cam on order ASAP with the -9 core (billet core / pressed on iron distributor gear.)

The cam is a -9 series, its a custom cut cam with a billet core. I had also heard of that problem and inquired about it before purchasing the motor.

Excellent. I'd also make sure you're running a genuine GM melonized gear on the distributor and not MSD's melonized gear. Too many issues with the MSD gear.

And geez, you really stripped that thing all the way down!
