Hey guy's just trying to figure out my brake problem. The rear discs are draging ang getting hot. I'm aware that I need to remove the residual pressure valve, but I don't know if it's in the master cylinder or the distribution block on an 87 gm g-body. Can't seem to find any info on this. I have a proportioning valve to control the front to rear bias, but the old drums required 10psi residual pressure. How do I reduce this down to 2psi? Any advise would be much appreciated.

You don't need a residual pressure valve unless the master cyl. is mounted lower than the brakes. Like a street rod under the floor. If you use one on a normal firewall mounted setup it'll make the brakes drag. But you already knew that! Remove the valve. A residual valve is not a replacement for the stock junction block. FRANK. EDIT- I re-read you post if the car has the stock brake system, check for the parking brakes dragging. Also make sure the brake pedal is releasing all the way back.

Better yet take the prop valve out and throit in the trash
get a wilwood adjustable brake pressure vavle and install it in the rear brakes adjust it untill the fronts lock first
and yes some masters do have a residual P valve in the master
