In Howard's (Novacane) project update thread, steel donuts were mentioned as an alternative to piecing together several pieces of bent pipe to get around tight multiple bends in a header pipe.

Has anyone had any experience with the donuts? I have formed some idea of my own as to how they work, but would like to find out from someone who has actually delt with them.

I've used them quite a bit, but I'm not exactly sure what you're asking. It's just like using a U or J bend, except once you have your piece cut out, you have to weld the inside seam.

You just cut out the piece you need, just as you would with a u-bend? :pat:
I guess it's safe to assume that the donuts have a much tighter radius?
