I have just fitted a narrowed jaguar rearsuspension on my car, but the original jag shocks, (thay are basically coilovers) are a bit on the stiff side and are not adjustable in height, besides they are used and ide rather replace now.. My problem is that the original jag units are angled about 30 degrees inward and sit on a car that is about 50% heavier in the rear than my roadster is. so when i install the shocks closer to vertical the weight of the car tilll isnt enough to compress the coilovers from fully extended..

what brand of coilovers are actually good shocks, a buddy of mine bought a set of aldan eagle coilovers that failed in two months and when he went to have them rebuilt the guys at the shop wouldnt stop laughing once they had them disassembled...

the weight of the rear end om the roadster is arround 1200 pounds with fuel and me inside, the shocks sit 40% of the way in between the wheel and the diff, there are 2 coilovers per side, and its an irs ofcourse...

any realistic advices (i know somone is going to say penske or öhlins but my moneytree isn't that tall)

afco, pro, carrera (now QA1), Strange...all good shocks. If you want absolute top quality Koni, Penske...

Prett much what TT said. QA1's are killer for the price. Moton club sports are very nice but getting up there in price. The quad adjustable Motons, Penske, etc. are all big $$$$$, and probably not much better than the normal stuff for a street car.

This place is a dealer for the Koni racing line. The 30 SP8's are relatively reasonable. They are height adjustable, but not dampening adjustable. And you can mount pretty much any rate spring you would like.

thanx for the input guys.. i think im going to go with a pair of quality 30 series koni's and ditch the rear set of coilovers, making room for an antisway bar that anchors where the shocks used to go.. figured it was cheaper to do it right the first time than buy some cheaper stuff and have to replace with the right stuff in a forseeable future
