Hey I know its what make a 67-68 a 67-68 but I was thinking about extending the existing body line across the wheel opening for one solid body line, not quite like a 69 though since theirs is only aft the wheel.

I personally dont like the rouded look, I like the lower look better.

Has anyone seen it done or think its a good idea?

I know it would take alot of metal work, but would be a one of a kind suttle custom.

im not sure what your talking about but it did make me wonder something..

has anyone ever put a 69 front end on a 67/68?

i like the deep inset grill and bumper going along with the face..

would be pretty cool i think..

ok so what is it you like about a 68 that you dont on a 69?..sounds like it would be eaiser to buy a 69 and put tthe 67-8 stuff you like on a 69..less fab work that way..i have a 69 but also like the rounded wheel wells or the 68..so after im done with my 69 im looking for a 68..

I know its not pro-touring but I just picked up my 68 at the body shop today. It has 5 inches of stretch for a 33" tall tire. It also has shaved drip rails, side markers, locks, and body seams.

Ok do you see the side body line in the pic above, Im talking about entending it over the wheel openings to make it less round. Similar to a 69 but not quite.

The pic above looks nice, did he streatch out the wheel well???

Thanks

We have been fighting with the front tire to fender turning clearance on our Sixtynine....I would not do it for that reason. Early in the game we thought about arching the wheelwell openings like the 67-68, but if we were going to do that we might as well have started with a 67-68. If you like the flat wheelwells, use a 69 to start with...my two cents worth.

The rounded lines of the car does not lend to squared wheel well openings..

Just like the squared lines of the '69 wouldn't work that well with rounded openings..

just my .02

Please do not desecrate a '67-'68 by adding a '69 styling cue to it. That's a bad move and bordering on sacriledge I might add.

If you don't like the rounded wheelhouses, then I'm with everyone else; sell the car and find a '69.

I think, personally, that it would look very "backyard special" when you finished. Kinda like a messed up set of wheel flares from the 70's, or something.

Thanks for the chop...

That has changed my mind. I thought it would give it a sleeker look but it just looks wrong. I will just stick the car in the weeds for the look I want.

Thanks
