Well- after sandbagging for too long, I've made some progress:

Quadralink and minitub install (no rear shock Xmember in the photo, but it's done):

The frame before surgery:

After (notches created for the 4.2 Voretch): Also note the DSE front coilover brackets (and fill panel that looks warped but isn't). Cheesy black paint used to prevent rust before detail grinding and powdercoat.

Tires hung briefly (315/35/17s on Billet Specialties Rebels)

And finally (for now), the Trailblazer engine installed, awaiting it's turbo.

Thanks. John Cunningham's Chevy II engine has served as my inspiration. He's making 1350hp with a GT47 turbo. I figure my little GT42R will do ok...

Ya know, I forgot you had a car! Looks great. Can't wait to see more. Do you have a project link? Excellent work.

You have to be applauded for going with the different engine combo. I am so tired of the twin turbo or blown LS1. Not that they aren't bad engines but you have a car that is a standout. Not sure if pics reflect the final color but that is different also.

I was building same car and if you are interested in some killer tribal flame layout for top panels let me now. Not over done but killer design. They were done for my car but project was terminated. Artwork is already done.

Actually I like it as it sits, just throwing it out there.

That car is going to be freakin' cool when done.

Any HP targets? I know GM was getting about 700 out of the inline-6 in Pikes Peak trim.

How will the stock ECU take boost? Any MAF limits or can it run Speed/Density after the MAF is maxed? Reason I ask is isn't there VVT on the exhaust cam, so you'd need to keep the stock ECU.

Do you have a Ponitac OHC Sprint 6 emblem for it?

There was a Sprint 6 Firbird in the Junkard I used to go to when I was in High School. I thought it was kind of neat but who would ever want a 6 cylinder sports car so I never even took the logos:(

Cool Project!! I especially like the inline 6.

I did all the wiring on Cunningham's Wagon, in fact the car is on its way back to me for some updates.

I will be touring along with John during Drag week as well.

Good luck with the project, looks really cool so far.

Thanks for the compliments & motivation. The trans X-member has been updated with a new drop-out piece, the DSE SFCs are about to go in this weekend, and my DSE 9" showed up. I love new parts!

I'm shooting for 750 to 800-ish RWHP, which should be easy with the 42R, 83lb injectors, and some solid engine building items (the stock crank will be used/modified). The Supra 2JZ guys make 1000hp on the same turbo (as have some LSX cars), so my extra 1.2+ liters of displacement will only help things. John C's car has made 1350+hp with a 47 turbo and more headwork, further supporting my goals.

The intake and exhaust are just now underway; I had to wait for a 2" die to be refurb'd, and our local tubing supplier retired out of the blue. We've got a real pretty stack of 321 elbows & tube, along with a bunch of 3.5" aluminum.

Frank- at the time I did! that's not all of my welding- I did the tubs and the xmember, plus all the fitting. My fabricator buddy (re: the dude I owe lots of after-hours work to) did the qudralink brackets and front xmember. I did all the fitting / tacking, he did the real & pretty stuff. I'd like to get it to a roller stage & bring it down for you to give me your .02 on my paint issue. If I don't have to go back to the sandbox this fall, The goal is to have a runner by the Turkey Rod Run.

Blown353- I'm running an Accel Gen 7 with the exhaust cam locked out. I wanted to use one of the pulse-width modulated outputs to control the cam, but it appears there won't be much to gain from it (re: more work). But- EFIlive and HPtuners now have software avail to run these in non- ETC mode, so I'm sure we'll see some Trailblazers / Envoys running around with turbos on them.... Oh wait, here's one now (he has some vids up):
http://forums.trailvoy.com/showthread.php?t=5386

Zee- I'm fabricating a pan using the stock rail (to retain the driver side A/C cmopressor- this is FL ya know). I'm working with ARE to come up with a wet-sump design for possible production.

Michael- as a fellow Brightuckian (when I'm back in town), I'd love to stop by and see some of your work. I'd love to do something like you are doing, but down here in FL- I was a navy electronics tech for 12 yrs before doing the flying thing. Lotsa time on AMP, Packard, etc...and I love doing really nice systems. I just don't like the F1 prices of some of the connectors out there!
