I recall reading where people have used LS1 calipers w/C5 rotors.
Can this be done?
Is there a difference in the width of these calipers?
Thanks in advance . . ....

LS1 calipers & C5 calipers are practically the same. The C5 has "CORVETTE" cast into them, & may have more cooling fins. The mounting brackets are different depths. Not sure of the difs between the pads.

I hear they are the 'same' as in they should interchange but that the C5 calipers actually have a wider width. I don't know if the width is soley from the 'cooling-fins' or if it's the caliper itself thats wider, or the C5 bracketry.
I've been told that C5 calipers won't fit under TT2's. I tried these wheels out on our 02 Trans Am & they cleared the LS1 caliper w/about 7/16" to spare.
I'm just wondering if I could use the LS1 caliper on a C5 brake conversion instead of the wider C5 caliper in order to be able to use the TT2's (I already have these wheels & don't want to have to buy another set).

I have the C5 calipers & rotors & have it setup to use on the Monte. I do have to use about 3/16 spacer to keep the wheel from rubbing. Do you want me to measure the distance from the rotor face (where tire wheel mounts) to the far outside of the caliper?

That would be great! Then, I can compare your measurements w/the LS1 caliper/rotor on the T/A & see if it's remotely possible.
Thanks a bunch!
