Dont know if this is the right forum or not and am not trying to bash Jegs. Just want to point out a descrepancy in their catalog that they have concerning the GLOBAL WEST LOWER CONTROL ARMS. On page 179 K upper right hand corner of the NEW JEGS catalog they have a picture of Global Wests New Lower control arms. In the picture it shows the arms with Del a lum bushings, ball joint, bump stop and sway bar links installed. Well when I opened my box today, Everything was in there except the sway bar links. Not a big deal I guess but here is what the ad read and I quote.

"Powder coated and full assembled including ball joints, bump stops and SWAY BAR links where applicable"

When I called Jegs on it they said that it stated " where applicable" Ok last time I checked a 69 camaro has a front sway bar so I would assume that you would need sway bar links as part of the application? Jegs agreed and called GLOBAL WEST. They responded back to them telling them that they do not include them even thought the description Jegs uses supposibly comes directly from GLOBAL WEST!!! AHHH am I missing something here?

Like I said may not be a big deal but I find this a bit misleading!!!

I would say that if it is advertised regardless of whos fault it is the company advertising the error needs to cough up the part. I would think that is false advertisement and the company would have to fix it. Especially since your vehicle would require the sway bar links.

Call GW directly and plead your case.

Global West has enough trouble shipping their product in a timely fashion to direct customers and returning direct customer emails/phone calls. Do you really think they will take the time or effort to send out product for free even when it IS outlined in "their" description that they provided to Jegs?

Call and plead your case? You will have to get someone to first answer the phone and then pick up after they put you on indefinite hold!

I've had "decent" service from gw, but some of it took forevveerr.

Maybe we ought to start a thread devoted to those either not to use, or those whose service/customer support needs some work?

So this thread started out about a Jeg's advertising error and 4 posts later it's already time to dogpile on GW?

Mine didn't come w/ them either, but I was just glad to finally get the right arms. :jump: Keep us posted - be interested to see if the pony up.

No need to dogpile here, there's a different thread for that in the Outhouse forum.

As noted in the first post, the error was the result of "supposedly incorrect information/product copy supplied to Jeg's by the supplier". In this case that supplier/manufacturer it is Global West.

You are correct, there is no need to turn this thread into a GW bashing forum. A search of website and any other performance oriented automobile website will provide plenty of information/opinions upon which to make your "own informed descision" as to whether you "will or will not" use this manufacturer/supplier, Global West, for your suspension upgrade products.

I personally have never seen anyone complain about the quality/design of GW products. Their products have been industry leaders for years! I have seen many people make less than positive comments about other aspects of GW's business plan. Again, do a site/web search and make your own decision!

If I was Jegs that would be my story too ;)

And yes, I do know of the complaints about CS at GW and it's the weakest part of thier company.. I just don't automatically assume they are responsible for catalog errors at Jegs.

Ok guys, time to do a little research. Look at this page.

http://www.globalwest.net/Camaro%20and%20Firebird%20tubular%20lower%20contro l%20arm%20large%20view%201967-9.htm

The first gen arms won't come with the end links because of where they bolt onto the arm. The location of where the link bolts onto the arm has everything to do with them coming with them or not. The 2nd gen arms will come with them because the stock mounting location winds up on the tube. I think you got everything included.
