thanks for the comments and hopefully it will be runign sunday. electric fan has to be moutned and accesories have to be tightened down. hyraboost is mounted just waiting for the master cylinder i painted to dry! then we start it up. sry to change subject but shoul di try to unhook fuel line and turn ignition on just to see if the pump is really working?

it wouldnt hurt if you did see if your pump is workin but then again you have your fuel gauge to see if you have pressure.

well i just noticed the headers are kitting the steering bow by like a paper sheet width. if i push the headers a little bit they clear. should i just run them and see if there is vibration? and if there is just dimple it? one more question......how should i connect this. i was doing to hack saw the collector that came with the headers. put it in a vice and slot it in 4 places then clamp it and lessen the radius a little. that would enable it to slide inside the exhaust. heres pics. what do you guys think?

right now i have 2.5 inch pipes with flowmaster super 40's single inlet single outlet. i have been told 3 inch would be better. what are your thoughts? i was looking at the magnaflow system with an x pipe and 3 inch. im not sure how there mufflers are though.

I have 2 1/2 inch exhaust and boy does it sounds super beefy! idk...to me 3 inch seem too big with the amount of compression the engine is making! btw i'm running gibson mufflers.

oh yeah...i'm running an x pipe that was really $$$

yeah...it was. i felt a big differnece from the H pipe to the X with this engine!

my compression is not high though so im not sure if i should switch to the 3 inch

the 9.5 to 1 compression is pretty beefy on that 427! it feels like a 11 to 1 and sounds almost like a big block!!! i think 3 inch may be ok for this engine but i just really like my 2 1/2 inch exhuast...it just has the right amount of backpressure. i'm sure that whatever you choose to go with will be good! :twothumbs

honestly id go with the 2 1/2 it breaths perfect and as for horsepower hold on to your seat! ...or if you wanted to go 2 3/4 and meet half way between the two sizes. like i said you really cant go wrong with what you choose on this engine!

What brand headers are these? What size primaries are they? I'm on my third set of Hooker Super Comps 1 3/4 primaries. They hit the pitman arm. I'm running an AGR box. This is the last set I'm going to try then I think I might try S&S. What do you think of S&S?

Hey Radguard9, what kind of motor are ya running?

I have some 'never-used' Cyclone 1 3/4", adjustable length headers you can have for a good price. :) They're ceramic coated too, but they are for a standard small block chevy in a 1st Gen.
