Seems like just about all my friends are car guys.

It's bad... really bad. I'm about to move in with some friends, and between the 3 of us it'll be (newest first) '02 z06, '94 Cobra, '93 Notchback stang, '92 galant vr4 (turbo all wheel drive sedan), '89 turbo notchback mustang, '68 Camaro, '66 Mustang.

Am I the only one that judges their friends worth by their car collection ;)

The best car friend I have is my girlfriend Heather. The other local car friend I have is Teddy (teddys camaro). Besides them, Ken (BB69) and a couple friends I have met on this site, I dont have any car guy friends. Everyone I know has too many kids and cant afford this hobby. Lucky for Heather and I we dont have any kids, dont smoke or do drugs. So that means any money we have coming in goes to the cars or to other fun hobbies like quad, video games, computers... We dont make much but we sure have fun with the money we spend and always have something to show for it.

Only friends I've got are friends from work.

Most of them are "closet car guys" - they either aren't in a position financially to own a musclecar or they're going to get another one "eventually".

I think I've got the only V8 in the parking lot today.

Is it bad if ALL of your friends are car guys, and every vacation you plan is car related???

OK, I guess I have one friend (we've been friends since we were 5) that could care less about cars....

ALL my friends a re car guys! I am the only one of them that works outside the automtive industry. If I listed all our cars it would read like a collection.

I try to spread it around:

Car guys, bikers, card sharks, investment bankers and eastern bloc circus clowns.

Nope. I have a handful of friends, and maybe half of them are into cars.

yup..almost all are into cars big time but not one of us do it for a living! I got a few friends that are into the airbag/20+" wheel thing but they build sick cars so it dont matter. I got a few that are into muscle cars....but almost all are into cars in some way....

I have no friends that I hang out with :( They all moved away, sadly, in the last few years. Just me and my wife...

Yup.

All my friends are car guys......yet I'm the only one that's into classics/american muscle. The list is an 04 STi, 95 TT supra, Del Sol, 99 Audi A4 (TT).....and a 68 camaro.

So I'm among my own....yet so alone. haha

Yep, all of my friends are into cars in one form or another. All but two of my friends are fast car/muscle car guys and the only two of my friends that don't own fast cars of their own (but like them) own bitchin' off road machines-- something which is also a lot of fun.

We're very bad when we get together because of similar interests-- the weekends always seem to involve some combination of cars, guns, boats, quads, and bikes...

The majority of my friends are into cars, but there are a couple who aren't. Our group of cars would look something like this: '01 SS, '68 Camaro, '02 Z/28, '69 Nova, '70 Challenger, '05 SRT-4 (Stage 2), '98 Cobra, and a couple of STI's.

I've got a handful or so of good friends
-#1 Used to be a car guy, now has 3 kids and a wife. Now owns a minivan:nopity:

#2 "closet" car guy, has a 68 olds sitting in his driveway and not a dime to do anything with it. Reason... two kids-$600+/month child support. Just blew out a disc in his lower back:injured:

#3-4 Never were car guys. Just hunting&fishing:slap:

I don't have any kids, so that helps. Just trying to serve two masters (hobbies) that kills me (cars & guitars... What an expensive combo)

For the most part yes, it just kinda happened that way though. I've known them since we were in at the latest 5th grade.

Honestly I like being around people who aren't into just as much as people who like them. Kind of gets repetitive when you think about and talk about cars all day. For women I would rather have one that just calls cars shiny or not shiny than one that can help me work on it, just my preference though I can see the benefits in one that likes cars too lol.

I wouldn't call them friends, more like fellow addicts that do nothing but encourage my sickness. You all know who you are too!:grouphug:

I don't have that many friends that are car guys. I have several "groups" of friends though:

1. Old friends from growing up / high school - they all moved out of state and most of their lives revolve around frats and beer

2. My roommates / friends from the dorm at school - they are mostly into music, movies...artsy type people...they appreciate nice cars, but aren't really into them that much. And one roommate who just bought a Suzuki GSX-R 600, but he's not too much into cars.

3. My friends from mech. engineering at school - this is where my only car friends are. I'm good friends with a guy that I've known since freshman year who restored a '66 Stang, and is now into ginormous Jeeps. I've got another friend that has an '01 SS that runs low 12's (in Lubbock - elevation ~3300'), and his whole group of friends are hardcore drag racing guys (guys from Texas Speed & Performance outside Lubbock, TX).

I've also got a guy that I was friends with in high school (haven't kept up with him too much since we graduated unfortunately) whose dad is Lou Gigliotti, an SCCA World Challenge and Trans Am champion and owner of L.G. Motorsports oustide of Dallas, TX (the "G2 - Performance by Gigliotti" stickers you see on newer T/A's and Camaros sometimes). That's a sweet place to hang out...they have some insane cars out there, and his races are so much fun....went to one at Laguna Seca in 2004 that was awesome. Check them out at www.lgmotorsports.com - they've got some sweet videos on their site, and they claim to have the quickest 346 N/A Corvette in the world

I wish I had more friends that are car guys. It sucks when I come home and I want to work on my car, but I always feel guilty because all of my other friends are doing other stuff (like going to the bars every night), and I feel bad if I don't hang out with them. Oh well, I guess I should be thankful for having friends and not complain about our dissimilar interests.

I have a few friends that are "into" cars but don't own one and probably won't own one soon if they ever do. They like to look at them and would love to have one......but it's not happening. I'm pretty much all alone in this hobby (aside from you guys out in cyberspace). My Mom and Dad have a passing interest in what I'm doing...my brother could care less and my Wife doesn't understand why we just can't take that bucket of bolts out in the garage and turn it into a new set of leather furniture. My cousin is into Hot Rods, he owns the purple Nova that is on my site...but he's "old school". It's all about blowers sticking out of the hood, wheelie bars, skinnys up front and back-halved muscle cars. He doesn't get what we do here or what we stand for. He thinks its just a bunch of silly people who put wagon wheels onto their cars and try to make them into G-Rides. The other guys I know that are into cars are just acquaintances. I have an old friend that owns a cylinder head shop here in Michigan and he does work for NHRA. But I don't see him very often. My other old car buddy Brian stops by a couple of times during the Summer for a few pops and to reminicse about the old days. He's into Mopars and has an old Fury vintage drag car with a 440 and.....and.....I'm blabbing again.

...excuse me.:banghead:

Some say I have no friends. :nopity:
Mine are probably about half and half, but the car guys and gals are the ones I see on the weekends!

I can one up all of you. Not only are all my friends (including my wife) car junkies and all vacations and weekends cars related, they are all GTO fanatics, no other makes in our group. I don't know if I should be proud of this fact or bury my head in the sand.
