solid roller w/rev kit for street

What is the reason solid roller lifters have a short life on the street, but Hyd. rollers last indefinitly?

The only thing I have found out is a solid rollers wheel tends to 'skid' on the heel of the cam, plus the shock load of lash takeup [I know they have lash ramps built in].

If these are the 2 main reasons for reduced street durability would running a rev kit help keep them alive?

Looking for input from anybody out there who has experience with this before I finish building my engine.

If you use good solid roller lifters this won't be an issue.
This means ponying up for the Isky lifters, yes they are expensive, and yes there is a reason.
I have done several engines with Isky lifters that have lasted 6 years+ with no problems.
THe Rev-kit is a good thing, you can run less spring pressure on the heads, its easier on the pushrods, and if something does break it keeps the pieces out of the rest of the engine
