Hey, guys, I need your opinions as soon as possible. My upper and lower control arms for my '68 Camaro are at a local shop right now, and we can't get the lower Energy Suspension polyurethane bushings to go in. I gotta decide whether to put stock rubber bushings in the lowers and have polyurethanes in the uppers, or to just take them home and try to get a new set from Energy Suspension on the chance that they maybe gave me the wrong bushings.

My girlfriend's dad was trying to put them in at his house with his 20-ton shop press, and had no luck on the lowers, so he took them up to a local shop to have it done. I haven't seen them yet because this has all taken place this morning, but this is what he tells me:

- The larger of the lower bushings went in
- The smaller of the lower bushings won't go in
- They tried to remove a little bit of material around the step lip on the bushings sleeve, and that didn't even help
- The guy at the shop said if he tries to just cram them in, it's either gonna mess the bushing up or bend the control arm

I tried calling Energy Suspension and Summit Racing, and neither one are open on the weekends :banghead: :machine:

Help Please!! Are we missing something?? :attn: :help!:

Ok nevermind, we finally were able to get them in. It took removing some material from the bushings, and freezing the bushings and heating up the control arm holes. I hope those bushing sleeves don't start to rust now since almost all of the cad coating is gone.

Might want to slap some paint on the ground portions?

Yea I'm planning on doing that. I'll be painting the firewall and underbelly chassis black this weekend, so I'll probably just shoot a light coat over them while I'm painting. I won't be able to get to the entire bushing, but hopefully they won't start rusting. Too bad it's not the uppers I had this problem with, cause I'm probably gonna replace those with tubulars sometime down the road.

What's the difference between the GW bushings and Energy Suspension?
