I am in the process of building a 1968 Camaro base coupe.
I stumbled upon a clean, low milage 96 LT1/T56 combo at my buddy's shop.


Primarily going for the stock look, with some modern upgrades
In addition to the motor, I have a set of 4th gen camaro seats, SSBC front disk conversion, Addco 1" sway, Moog 6308 coils, lotsa powdercoating

Recently ordered a set of sweet thunder chambered sections and just received ATS's tranny crossmember .

A ways to go, but came a long way since I found this car

It's been a work in progress for a while.

Once it is steetable again, I may look to do some suspension work..
Lots of nice components out there.

My old block may be worth something as well...it is a 4bolt main..going to have it tanked/tested.
If it checks out, Ill use that as a basis for something else

That engine bay looks great, like the factory put the LT1 in there to begin with. The chambered exhaust system should sound great too.

Thank you...I was really happy once I saw it. The conversion wasnt terrible, but more than my skillset allowed.. I asked the installer to paint the LT1 chev engine orange..adds a little nostolgic look to the modern motor.. I also have cast bowtie valve covers on deck - perimeter bolt adapters had been on back order

Been thru a bunch of engine candidates for this car. LS1, crates...
Got a good price in it. I was a little horrified when it arrived at the shop

Looking very forward to the chambered..Mike is supposed to be sending them this week :fingersx:
