Are you talking the 383? Then I can see it being in that range. It has to be the Cam. I have DART 215 heads and a Hyd Roller making 508 h.p. The new AFR heads, especially the CNC, are expected to be way better than the old heads and capable of that power with a good Roller bumpstick. The compressin seems low so LSA must be wider than 110 but should be quite a mean engine!

THe engine is a 383 .. THe reason that I am so interested in this engine combo is I have a very simular setup and I only made 337 to the wheels ... and I was expecting over 400 so now everytime I see an engine using almost identical parts make 150+ hp more than me it kind of grinds me the wrong way..:banghead:

they have been around for quite a while, each engine combo is dyno tested and optimized for consistent results, i doubt they are using off the shelf cams, you pay for their dyno and research time, their machine work and assembly is top of the line. ive seen their engines in a few cars and believe the #'s.

Mine made 545 on 87-octane. It's the solid roller teamed with the good CNC'd heads.
Gale is a good engine builder. I relied on coatings to run the 87, he just uses 91 and gets about the same power. It's not impossible, you just have to use a well-researched combo.

Mine has been discussed in the engine forum here. Check it out.

I read an article about their 383 Enforcer 480 awhile back in one of the magazines. It said that they spend 6 hours on porting work for each head or something like that. It sounded as though they've just really figured out what combos work and have ounced everything they can out of them.
