Whats the best way to go about popping the ball joints with the afx spindles installed? I know I will be having to do this to set the ride height.
I don't like the idea of a pickle fork, and smacking the side of the spindle is not really an option either.

I'd use the tool that spreads the ball joint studs apart. Works every time and doesn't damage anything.

 Thanks.

Any ideas where to find one?

What, are you afraid to beat on those pretty new spindles?:moon:

This is something I had previously looked into and we may eventually offer a "production" tool, but for now here are some very easy homemade and pre-made tools that may work quite well without having to beat on the spindle because we all know how much aluminum loves to be beat on.(<---sarcasm ladies and gentlemen...beating on spindle BAD!)

A similar concept, but premade. Not sure on the length, so I'm not sure if this particular one would work.

Same story. Design should work good, but not sure on length.

And finally they took away one of the pages I had bookmarked, but luckily I printed a copy. So here's another simply homemade tool you can make that should work very well. I think this design would work the best if executed correctely.

Hope this gives some ideas. We would love to hear any other suggestions so that we can accomodate any other needs anyone may have.

Yeah, banging on them will promote cracks.

I made a simple puller that fits around the ball joint section. I could not find anything local.

I'll post a picture if I ever make it back out to the shop.

I have not even decided to install them. I might just hang them up somewhere. They are too pretty.

Looks like the threaded rod is the way to go. Thanks for all the input.

You want I should gold plate them, and get you a chain so that you can wear them around your neck? Come on people, these suckers are made to perform. Sure- they look sexy, but that doesn't mean they can get down and dirty. ;)

Great idea, I'll drive down tomorrow and we can "hang" them on my car. Since I don't have inner fenders, we can just pop the hood to enjoy their beauty.:jump:

A large coupling nut with an appropriate bolt will work. Get a fine thread setup to allow for more applied force.
