Many of you know that Jeff is building me a wagon. I chose Jeff because this is an off beat car and seemed to fit with what he builds. Here are a couple pictures of how it looked when it first showed up at his shop.

Thats so sweet. What wheels are those?

1970cuda
05-13-2006, 09:25 AM
haven't finalize brand of wheels yet but they will similar to ones shown. we will be running a 19x9 with 245/35/19 michelin ps2's in front and 335/30/20 in the rear(ps2 also). wanted to run larger in front to help with understeer but there isn't that much room with the air ride and such

What do you have planned for the powertrain?

6 speed with a ls motor either with a procharger or twin turbos. more hp than a wagon will ever need

Looking great. It has come a long way since Jeff did my minitub job last summer. Then it was just the raw shell. I am looking forward to seeing it as soon as Jeff calls me and tells me that my Kinesis wheels are in.

jeff s
05-18-2006, 07:19 PM
There's a bit of clearancing to be done on the chassis yet for the bags, since it's made for std coilover shocks. And the Kinesis wheels are in process, should be pretty soon. The Royal Purple/V8TV 69 Camaro chassis should be assembled by then too.
thanks

When is the target completion date for the wagon? This thing neds to be at our Street Challenge event in September. We did a 62 Buick Invicta wagon a couple of years ago that was just a friggin HOOT! It was all stock suspension and frame with airsprings, ShockWaves, and 4 wheel disc brakes. Steve Grissom piled 5 magazine guys in that thing and ran around Putnam Park road course all afternoon...they got out giggling like school girls. Open track day takes on a whole new dimension with 4 of your closest friends in the car. Think about the difference between going to the bar alone and going with 4 friends...bring on the party! Also, one can now have several more first hand witnesses to your driving skills :).

jeff s
05-19-2006, 05:33 AM
Bret, You know I love track days and I'm sure 1970Cuda will too. Not sure if it'll be done by then, I may come to hang out anyway.
Stevo, No floorpan mods required, bolts to stock body mounts. The camaro unit bolts in as well. Fabrication of bumper mounts and a custom motormount is needed.
thanks

bret, thank you for the offer i would love to do that but i don't think that it would be done in time but who knows. I know that jeff could have it done by then but i don't think i could afford to pay him to get it done by then.

the quarters are from Jason at Sherman and Associates www.shermanparts.com (http://www.shermanparts.com)
They are actually El Camino Quarters. Kevin Oeste told me about that little trick. The outer wheels houses are for standard chevelle that jeff and his crew had to modify to work. Jason has helped me so much in figuring out what will work and what might work with at little assistance.

bill, I really appreciate your comments. Jeff's pictures and comments like yours and others on the board really help to take some of the stress out of the build.

Bill Howell
06-20-2006, 06:48 PM
Stress? What stress, remember you have joined the ranks of not even being a "car guy" since you are letting someone else build your cars now. :hammer:

There can not be any stress, now that you have "arrived" and pay for your builds. Shoot, I bet there is even a money tree in your back yard too.

J/K, I have been there/done that very recently, I feel your pain.

Man those front rotors are big! It's funny now 'cause the 13"s on my car look so small. The floor pans look great in person and should cloear the trans really well. I have to convince Jeff and Robin to go with an F1 Procharger now. The F2 would be too much for the street and a stick shift will kill cogged blower belts. Maybe a Schwartz twin setup would be good too.

Broke a valve spring on the Cad b4 rolling into IRP. Wanted to tag along with Poison Dart we had built with Imagine, but took a couple days to get parts to fix the Cad, just went home. Cad's now in New Jersey with new owner.
