I didn't see too much about this in previous threads other than the mention of the Mule having had this notching done.

I want to fit the widest possible tire up front,..ie. I don't think I'd be happy with only a 255 on a 17" or 18" rim. I'd love to put 275 or 285 or something up front.

My car is currently at a good welders shop for the tubs, SFC's, firewall panel and DSE coil-over/UCA mounts.

Is anyone else notching the front for a wide tire?
How much to notch?
Is the notching done for fore/aft of the control arms, or just one end?

Thanks!!

PS, My ride has not seen the light of day for 15 years and this past weekend she finally came out into the light to begin her re-birth!!! :bananna2:

You can do it with 275s, CarlC has, but you will lose turing radius.

Damn my lack of a signature!!! :)
It's a 69 Camaro of course, doesn't everyone have one? My bad for leaving that out, I reallly need to address my auto-signature thing!

Yo B! Isn't that what the long skinny pedal near my right foot is for? It seems to help me decrease my turning radius when I press it hard with the front wheels turned. :naughty:

Thanks for the tip!

There's not much loss. Easily driveable, and three-point turns on narrow streets are doable.
