427 is a lot to ask of an OE block.
The biggest I would go on a OE block would be 408. In my experience the 392 is the best stroker combo for those motors

well,427 has no extra cost over any other ford stroker.i will not want over 450-500 horses.i would use airflow research heads.even thinking about using hyper pistons but who knows.anybody else?

Well that is not exactly true... when you start getting into strokes over 4" one really has to clearance the hell out of the block, which weakens it, which means you have to fill it, which means that you have to be VERY careful with the cooling system so on and so forth.
Just because the magazines say its easy dosen't make it so.

Stay away from Hyperutenic pistons in general; they are brittle.
What kind of budget do you have here?

bad advice

i am a mustang man and have built 10 or more strokers. my last was a PUMP gas 418w. it was 4.10 stroke, 6.2 rod, witha 4.030 10:1 pistons. the kit is made by eagle and is a neutral balance kit. with a set of box stock AFR 225's it ran 10.40's on motor and low 9's on race gas and some N2O. you could drive it anywhere and it never got over 180*. the block was a 1984 truck block and it was not filled. I raced and drove it for 2 years.

you do need to limit the bore to 4.030 no .040 over stuff and you need a good aluminum radiator with a good fan. no black magic BS fan. i run a OEM fan from a 3.8l taurus.

try visiting www.hardcore50.com (http://www.hardcore50.com) for some real ford engine tech.

i do not know know if you can stuff a 427 into a stock block though???

i am now building a 4.125 bore 438w in a dart block. can you say low 8's and 1000+ HP????
