I have spoken to Desmond who did our original logo and he agreed to help us out and modify our current logo.

So, what do you want to see? Second gen Camaro? Mustang? What year?

Lets compile a list for a few days and the top 3 to 5 requests will be made.

We can then make more shirts, stickers, signs and even create custom web templates with them.

I'm really honored he's agreed to do this for us.

The boxes got held up and just arrived today. I'll be spending the next few nights boxing them up so they will be ready to ship on Monday. Watch for a link to order them in the next day or two.

Agreed! 70-72 A body, preferably an Olds but that's not likely to happen so i guess a chevelle will work.

a second gen camaro or a chevelle would be sweet

I don't think anything typifies PT as much as a 1st Gen Camaro. If you are seeking a brand ID, you need to stick with an image that is as identifiable with the PT genre as possible. Nothing else does that as well.

The cardinal rule with logo's is to not make radical changes. So how 'bout this: Update the car by morphing in 69 Mustang side vents and do something with the hood like an AAR cuda scoop. A little Chevy, a little Ford and a little Mopar. Might sound hokey, but I bet Mike Desmond can pull it off.

I'd say refine it into a more 69ish logo like the one adam made

https://static1.pt-content.com/images/noimg.gif
the wheels look more real, the brakes look better, and the grille and side gilles are there. This looks SOO much better.

or you could go somewhere totally different. like pistons and a brake rotor. or something like that. Something that defines performance and stile.

don't change it. a logo is your image - keep it the same

68 Camaro!

Actually, I agree with Harshman.. you should change your logo since it is how you are "branded" in the world and has value.

Have some alternate logos for t-shirts and stuff maybe..

Sounds too much like Lateral-g's logo

I was thinking a variation on this

https://static1.pt-content.com/images/noimg.gif
with a rotor in the middle and pistons crossed behind it, like a skull and crossbones Surrounded with a racing stripe inspired thing.

I vote g-body. Like a Malibu or even an El Camino. I also think your logo helps people identify the brand. Maybe instead of changing it have a few drawn up that members could order depending on their preference instead of changing the logo completely. Maybe one a-body, b-body and so on. Have the banner say something like "Pro-Touring.com G-body member". OK I'll shut up now.

I say keep it the same. Brand identity! It was good then, and it's still good today.

It would be perfect, if only you'd have used a 69 Firebird...but....

I own a high end security corporation that operates on a global scale. We conducted a market analysis to try to develop an icon that would cross language and cultural barriers. Everything from corporate colors, font size and type, symbols, etc.

In the few years that we have had this corporate icon, I have gotten the fever to change or evolve this image and have decided against it each time.

Now, I have a Nova and of course I would love to see my car represented as the pro-touring icon, but that just does not make sense.

Stick with what you have. You can develop sub-icons for example playing with the background color and stars to symbolize status in the club, contributions, sponsorship, etc. You could also commision 8-10 different types of cars to be available through the PT web store. Finally, you could create an icon minus the car for stickers, t-shirts, etc; just using some font and thread color changes.

I can't stop thinking about "New Coke"! What a marketing nightmare that was! When was the last time you saw a "marketing update" that worked?

Just my .02 . I hope it helps.

Thanks for all the great ideas guys. I did plan to use our current logo for the site and use the others for shirts, stickers e.t.c. I do agree that everyone associates our current logo with the site and that's the way I'd like to keep it. Maybe some day we can make shirts or embossed metal signs with different cars?

Larry...the logo we have now is a classic. Who cares what car is shown in it. People identify with it....it's a timeless design.

I vote for "NO" logo change.

Different styles(models) of cars on T-Shirts with the same overall design might be neat, and allow some personalization along with the overall appearance of the PT.com logo remaining the same.

I don't know if changing just the car model in the center would really be that noticeable to the untrained eye. You might be able to offer this subtle change as still garner the benefit of having the general public recognize the moniker/marque at a distance and glance.

How about a 70-74 cuda or challenger? For us mopar guys. I had to ask.....sorry. I like what you have know, add some detail to it maybe.

Please hold stones and knives for a later date....Thank you

I vote no change to the official logo of the site for the reasons stated several times by others.

However, I do think it would be sweet to maybe have some different versions of other cars (Mustang, Chevelle, Cuda, etc.) for T-shirts, stickers, etc. Buy I don't think you can just replace the car within the current logo with a different car, b/c that is essentially changing the logo. I say we need to come up with an alternate "logo" with interchangeable cars, but keep the main Pro-Touring.com logo the absolute same.

I would keep the original, but since I own a Chevy and a Mopar, I would vote on the quintessential Pro-Tourer, Nash Metropolitan with blower and zoomies!!

Larry, I'd like to say do a '69-'70 Mustang sportsroof, but I'm pragmatic. I think you should decide on what kind of folks you'd like to attract to the site... like maybe you want more Corvette owners (they sure got cash and like to buy 'vette logo'd stuff) or maybe Mustang guys ('cause while they don't have a ton of cash, they'll still buy tons 'stang logo'd stuff).

And while a cool X-body or G-body version would be great, those guys are more likely to blow cash on go-fast goodies rather than logo'd stuff I'd think. An AMX or Cuda version would also be very cool, but they need their cash for the extra pricey parts.

Anyway, anything you choose, Desmond is sure to do something killer, so it's all good.

Well I vote Lincoln:yeah: :yeah: No aww darn. Well I really think you should keep it the same or have one for each of the big 3. GM current one, Ford the mustang one that was posted a while ago and mopar an E or B body. but keep the style close to origianal as you can.

Keep it the same, but if you must change, put a trio of bada$$ cars in there, 70 Cuda, 69 Camaro, and a Shelby Stang.
