hmmm... never ran any of my cars at the strip, but I have taken them up to speed every now and again.
- 1968 Dodge Charger: 135mph (then I got scared and backed out)
- 1997 Saab 900SE Turbo: 122mph or so...
- 1969 Pontiac Grand Prix 428 SJ: NO IDEA - just got the thing.

Eternity carried me to 125 with her old 350 in er. We'll see what she can do with her little improvements, once she's broken in.

Wow! Where are you from? I see MO, but do you ever come to the Ozark doorslammer shootouts? That 37 sounds like it would be good for Outlaw here.
Well, my 69 did (pre-turbo) 170mph on a chassis dyno @ 6200rpm. I have had it @ 6500rpm (with everything the same) on a.....ahem....."desereted highway".....ahem! So what is that with the wind drag? 155ish?
With the turbo setup, no top speed blasts, but 10.9xxx at the strip on slicks.

i am up by kc.i've been down to ozark and just dont really care for it,we ran outlaw pro street with it last year.we over worked it last year and i spent acouple weeks rewelding the chassis back together(strees cracks)making an 8's car run 6's,it would 4.60-4.50 1/8th mile all day.

Well, my street racer is kinda quick for what it is. For a all steel (glass hood), stock railed, mini tubed, full interior, 400" SB, pump gas car that can go anywhere, she runs bottom nines. It's tore down now for a couple minor changes to the driveline, and a Chris Alston subframe, if it loses a couple LBS and gains a Couple HP, she could see 8.99. It's 3450LBS now, hoping it is 3300LBS when back together.

Well, when I put the 4bbl and 1.7 roller rockers on a stock longblock 302 (the same motor/trans she rolled outta teh factory with) my top speed around the beltway in Atlanta was around 115-120, and didnt really seem like there was much left.
Once that new motor is in, watch out!

Umm... My car ran a 17.-- at about 78 mph once. The transmission was going on it and I had a 2.56 gear in it. Top end with the stock 305 wound up being about 120, and with the 350 I had in it, it ran up to 130+. There was a turn and I had to slow down, and the speedo only went to 130. I've changed that now. When I get it back on the road, all those numbers will be different.

Well, I did about a 10.50 or so, but that's how long it took to push the subframe to the garage door. :injured: I'm hoping to get down into the high 9's or so, but I will need a beer, my fuel tank is low and I don't want to "lean" out. Bob Johnson and Bill Howell would be proud.

Why didn't you like it? There is a new owner this year also, so things may be a little different.

7900 RPM's with a 3.90 rear gear and a 21 inch tall tire. Don't know how fast that is however that's what the 69 Datsun 510 does down the back straight at Road Atlanta. My guess is around 130MPH.
The 66 GT350 will do about 165 down the same backstraight at Road Atlanta at 7500 RPM with a 3.50 rear gear and a 26 inch tall tire.
In both cases, it a hell of a lot of fun!

At the track.....i'm gonna bet....mid 15s. I've never had the guts to run the thing.
On the highway....I've gone 100+, but forget the exact number. I had to calculated it out, as my speedo only runs up to 100.

I was the I-10 going to Arizona and nobody else was on the road. Gauging by how far past the 120 mark on my speedo the needle went, I would say about 140. I have the power to go further, it just wants to kick out of OD if I go deeper in the gas. Damn I need a manual tranny!!

I have had the malibu up to 130-135 mph(speedo doesn't work I had to calculate eveything). I was only running 4500rpm at the time. It should run around 150-160.

last year my street/strip stang was running 5.80's in the 1/8th. that is good for a 9.40 or so in the 1/4 mile. i am building a new power plant right now that should put it in the low 8's in the 1/4. it is street legal was tagged up until last october. that is when i started the new build.

My 98SS went 12.60-70s at 107-108mph stock w/ free mods on stock F1's. Then it went 166 on hwy 8 east between Ocotillo and El Centro (CA).
I used to run a turbocharged Kawasaki KZ1000R (but at 1400cc). Ran 7.80's with me at 230lbs. Speed was a best of 182mph; we could never get the top-end clutch right. Engine made enough oomph to do 7.30's at 2 bills with a better (I like to say smaller) rider.
