Beaumonts had Chevrolet engines from the factory. This one looks to have a BBC.

Is that a Jerico road racing trans? What clutch are you going to use?

Looks like the front suspension under full load might hit that roll cage/chassis bar?

augh aye! nice

Travis Rankin

Its adjustable QA1, so that is ride height and it will clear.

Jerico 5 spd is right, and it has a mcleod twin disc clutch..

TT 502 power house, motec ECM, traction control

It'll have leather interior and the cage will be hidden when finished

This is the one I have been waiting for. The early pics on the website grabbed my interest, I really like the stance and the wheel choice.

Dumb question but I've always wondered on such builds. Is the frame welded directly to the rockers?

Travis Rankin
05-02-2006, 07:30 PM
you bet, the cage is also welded right into the body in alot of places.

That's what I thought but wasn't exactly sure.

what color you thinking of painting it?

1Fine69

looks absolutely delectable. blue/black or grey/black 2 tone woul dbe sickening

killer69
05-03-2006, 08:41 AM
We are thinking either all black (chrysler metalic ) with a red pinstripe or black on top and silver with a red pinstripe, actually the car has a factory aluminum trim that runs along the fender/door/ quarter about 2" down from the top edge and we will probably keep that as the red seperating line should look really good

1Fine69
05-08-2006, 04:57 AM
there is nothing nicer than that car in my book. I think it would look so kool kept sheetmetal. Maybe its just because i have black paint and i cant deal with it anymore

but a simply question:
what have this car to do with Pro-Touring ?
hmm, or have i not the right impression about pro touring ?

Well, basically it has all the aspects, improved braking, handling, more power, turbos, and I'm sure it is going to get some additional creature comforts that the old Beaumont wasn't available with. Isn't that the basic idea with PT?

el-camino
05-08-2006, 11:49 AM
ok, basically your right:look:
but my opinion is:
your build a complete new car with all this features.
my PT attitude is, a older car bring on this level to eat and beat a newer techno bomber.
pro touring have more faces:jump:

srh3trinity
05-08-2006, 01:52 PM
I think it fits very well into the pro touring realm, this build reminds me alot of Chicayne which I believe is kind of a benchmark car (or at least I measure alot of other cars by it).

I can see what your saying el-camino. I guess there really isn't much left of the old Beaumont to upgrade is there? Oh well, I guess this is basically the high, high end of the interpretation. The bottom end being, take a stocker and start doing some bolt on mods.

Oh man that thing is sweet! I love the way you rolled the frame rails down into the tubes in the front. Very slick!

Nice work on the headers too. You've got some awesome fab skills.

I'm interested to know what the final weight will be once it's done. Any target weight? Also, do you make a rolling chassis jig for each car or modify the same one for each?

killer69
07-03-2006, 02:01 PM
thanks for the compliment.

The weight should be around 4000.00 with the masive stereo that is going in it maybe a little more.
as for the jig. we have so far used the same one only because we have only needed one but we are now at the point that we need 2 maybe 3, one of the cars we are starting on is a prostock chassis under a 67 Chevy II for a fast street car so i think i am ( sorry Travis is) going to build another jig but i think it will be a 3/4 plate 5x10 that is about 12" off the floor with no welding to it so it wont warp, should be expensive but really the best way.

It's in the works..

We are aquiring the shop next door tomorrow..

Then we start gutting it, and moving in all the equiptment.
We hope to have it up and running in a month.

But we just added another project to the mix..

We have to build a car for the show Pinks.. Haven't started yet, and we will be racing/recording on Sept. 23rd :injured:

I'll be hanging my hammock in the shop tomorrow night....

It is cars like this that make me almost ashamed to post my humble project---
but I have to decide whether to stay married or to build my car to such extremes!!

Your car is the definition of pro-touring in my opinion, everything is upgraded!!

Awesome, keep the updates coming!!

You guys build some sweet rides!

Nice work on the hood design. I like how it's all coming together. By the way, I really like what you guys did with the side vents on the 69 camaro. Removing them from the quarters and making them inverted up front was very nice. It really picked up the body lines well.

Keep up the good work and keep the pictures coming. Any timeline for paint? You're getting close.

It's about time someone built a pro-touring TT BBC every body has a TT LS. What intake is that? Hogans? What kind of power #'s are you looking for? boost level? This is he first PT Beaumont I have seen I would love to send your pics to a freind of mine who has a Beaumont. Great work! Keep the pics coming.

Travis,

I've always wondered what do you do for a headliner when a cage is tucked up that close? Would you mind sharing the process?
