Hi, yesterday while using a "power ball", to polish chrome,specifically on a 70 chevelle hood hold down pins,the round top plate, I sligtly polished my paint. Now.... My paint is an older laquer job that has cracked so badly,the entire car needs to be stripped and painted. in the future. But,,, what happened was that say 60- 80 percent of the cracks disappeared,just with a wax. How come awhile ago I tried to compound these same cracks and got no where. I thought that the compound would give better results,and yet,the polish worked ten times better.. Any ideas as to why,and I plan on doing the entire car since I plan on a paint either late this year or next. I did the entire hood,and liked I said, big,,big,,big improvement? thanks
