Steve Howe died earlier today in an auto accident near Coachella, CA.
How was a pitcher for the Yankees and was suspended numerous times for substance abuse and finally ousted from the game.
The news report didn't mention drug or alcohol as a part of the wreck.

Sounds more like a sad end to a once promising life.

I saw the pics of his HD on the news. The cabin was intact though there wasn't a single staight panel left. Maybe he wasn't wearing his belt?

It looked like the truck rolled many times at high speed. Even with a belt on your carcass would be flopping back and forth quite a bit in a crash like that. It wouldn't be hard to whack your noodle on something rigid during that kind of flailing around.
Kinda like Gooden, so much potential....wasted.

Howe?
I thought he was mostly with the Yankees. Not too sure. Could be though. I do recall him making a rehab (ironic) start against the San Jose Giants (AA affiliate of the SF team) years and years ago. He might have been with one of the dodgers farm teams at the time, though the Yanks do have a farm team in the Pacific Coast league as well.
