Car looks outstanding man... What are the specs on the Billet Rallye's? Love the look of em. The Hogan's intake is a work of Art, should look great atop the 572.

Nice project there, I take it you are from Surrey? I'm in Burnaby.

Would the 572 have fit with the carb setup?

with a cowl hood it would have. but i went with injection only to keep it under the stock hood.

That's a really slick car. I have a couple of buddies here in Bby with the same wheels. One car has the same paint scheme as yours.

You going to bring it out to any of the shows this year?

nvrdun71,the wheels are wheel vintiques 90 series billet rallyes, 20 by 9.5 in the back, 18 by 7 up front but 20 by 8 on the way.Importkiller the seats are made by cobra and the type is misano,subesports.com sells them.rybar i met u a few weeks ago when mike came into your store.I first saw your friends rides at spanish banks 2-3 years ago.I said to myself then i want something like that.when i saw that foose 69 with the 572 fuel injected i got the idea to do this.im originally a mustang guy, lol. heres my stang

Looking great!
you need to upgrade that 4 spd though. I recommend a T56 with viper internals to withstand the power of the BBC.
We did a T56 behind this car with a BBC that dyno'd 712 hp at the wheels.

That's cool, you should have mentioned something.

Well I hope you get it done soon, so we can all hit the streets together this season. That 572 and Hogan intake just looks nasty in there. Give me a shout anytime if you need a hand, Mike has my #

Were going to attend a few shows, if you want to come out. BTW your stang is really nice.

VERY nice! Love the intake as well.

-What brand headers did you use?

-What Moroso oil pan did you use (part # please)?

I'm trying to squeeze a 572 in my Nova.

Thanks

surreyboy

headers are dynatechs , the pan is whatever world includes with their "hardcore" 572.its steel and 6 qt capacity.ill go through the papers that came with the motor to se if they list a part number.it clears the crossmember by about 1/4 inch

-Did the DynaTechs you used utilize a slip-on collector or is does it have a flange?

-How does the rest of your exhaust connect to the headers and how do you have it routed?

-Any pics of the exhaust connection to the headers?

Sorry for all the questions, but I've also ordered Dynatech headers with a standard slip on collector (i.e. no flange). From there I'm going to run some 4" pipe to a 4" muffler and probably exit in front of the rear wheels with a turn-down or oval tip.
Thanks!

they use the slip on collectors(3.5") .the exhaust is the 3 inch flowmaster muscle car system. ill have pics of it on soon. it was expanded to 3.5 to slip over the collectors. im using torctite band clamps for the whole system. Its nothing fancy but i had it ceramic coated. in the future when the cars dialed in i might have something custom made. ill post pics in a week or so when its in.

Thanks for the info. Any issue with fitment of the headers on the driver's side around the steering box and clutch linkage? Did you have to run a mini starter to clear the headers on the passenger side?

surreyboy
04-27-2006, 09:36 AM
mini starter is a csr and it still touches the header.the clutch linkage had to be fabbed up to go between the header tubes the stock set up wouldnt work.its manual steering now, the headers cleared that.I would recomend going with a hydraulic clutch.ill get pics of the linkage when i get a chance

That 572 looks like it was born in their. So with the Hogan it clears the stock flat hood ? You will surprise more than one person with that.

I dont know about the hood on the Camaro, but it clears the stock cowl hood on my 72 Chevelle!

swapped it over the manual steering and the clearance is ok. the clutch linkage had to be modded to slip through the headers but it never worked right. so ended up going to hydraulic set up, ats master cylinder bracket, mcleod hydraulic throwout bearing and mcleod clutch master cylinder.it looks alot cleaner without fitment issues.and my friend ended up finding a starter that clears the headers with ease its the powermaster pwm-9500.

I'd really like to know if you had gone without fuel injection with your stock hood how close to your stock hood you'd have come or through it . Im working with a 1968 Camaro & thinking on going to the 572 too . For anyone who'd like to know Headman headers have a new header that fits , the 572 for the 68 Camaro's . The stock big block headers don't fit . Part # is 65576-6 for the coated ones . There is also a after market hood for the 68 - 69 Camaro that looks stock like the orginal but has a 1 5/8 rise to it . It has hood louver location in place just like the orginal hood does . Thought that might interest someone .

Well Ive made up my mind pretty much on the motor . Ive heard to many stories about the 572cub. Clearance issues like changing the oil pan , firewall in the way , some even having motor running issues . So im going with the Scott Shafiroff Ultastreet chevrolet crate engine . The 540cub. 695hp version . I'd gladly listen to any horror stories about them if there's any . Haven't heard one yet though . Everything fits like it should & their dyno tuned & broke in before they are shipped out . Comes with a 2 year warranty & unlimited mileage . But im still listening to what you may have to say about this cause it's not to late to change my mind again .
