Ron Davis Radiators

I know this is not the correct fourm to post this but want to know if anyone has used http://www.rondavisradiators.com/radgallery.htm Just wanted some feedback of the quality/support. I am interested in either of the 67'-69' Camaro/Firebird models.

Ive always heard good things about Ron Davis.. Another option is Alumrad in Arizona he did my custom "two on the right" radiator... nice guy..

I'll have my ron davis installed in another 1-2 weeks. as was said construction is beautiful. Very nice stuff. I'll update after it is tested.

I have that exact setup, that picture does no justice, top notch quality!! Also if you get the universal setup it is real cheap! I highly recommend them and that exact radiator setup, no headaches in mounting the fan, also they have a higher fin count than most of the other rad companies. Also the welds are a work of art. check mine out, my upper rad bracket isn't done yet;

I have a Ron Davis radiator in my 65 Mustang with 500HP. It never, and I mean never runs hot, it will not go over 190 even idling in the heat. In addition, it looks perfect and have had no problems for the 6 plus years it has been in the car.

Well thanks for all your input guys but it seems now that their electric fan version is just too thick to fit my application:pat: So I may get their standard one and stick with my HP robbing, finger cutting mechanical fan:crying:

I have a Ron Davis 31 inch cross flow radiator on my '67 540 CI aluminum big block, with dual electric fans and shroud. It has a 180 degree fan switch, and the coolant temp never goes over 180. Amazing.

Highly recommended.

BTW, my radiator is the exact same configuration as Larry Callahan's.

actually i used the rad/fan setup because it was the thinnest thing out there, At first i had a mark VIII but there was no way i could fit it. I am running a BBC with long water pump, i don't think i could even fit a mechanical fan if i wanted.

Yody- I only have about 6" of space to fit the rad & fans. The one pictured in my first post is over 8". It has a built in shroud that adds to it's depth. Yours does look awsome.

So this version my be the way to go for me.

PTAddict, glad to hear yours is cooling well being it's the same as mine. I only put about 20 miles on mine before I tore the car apart. I can tell you I love my radiator. I think it's a killer radiator and I can't wait to put it to the test. To top off how well it's built it's just a KILLER looking radiator. They also built my intercooler and it's just as cool.

I'm using a 27" universal with a Spal dual 11" setup. No pics yet, but the dual fans are offset, giving us the room we need in the middle. I only had 5.5" with my 3-core & dual belt balancer.

How's progress coming?I ended up going with http://www.alumrad.com/ (http://www.alumrad.com/) Like Ron Davis, Alumrad makes a direct replacement but he is making the mounting brackets shallower than stock giving me a little more room. The radiator support lip will neen to be shaved in a few spots. I am not sure if this is normal but on my car the hole in the radiator support is off center towards the driverside. So I am going to use a 16" Spal single fan and off set it a little more to clear the water pump.

Alumrad also mounts the temperature sensor in the return side of the radiator. They say by doing this you make the thermostat and fan temp sensor work together. Thermostat keeping the motor at a constant temperature and the fan keeping the return coolant at a cooler temperature.
