Hey guys, I am working on the 5 speed plan and it looks like the 600 is a good move for me. No driveshaft cutting, stock shifter location in a Ford, just a clutch disc and crossmember swap.

My question is, who has really hammered on one? I spun 580 hp @ 6100 and have a 125 shot on top of that and I am wondering if it will hold up. The car is mostly street driven, but sooner or later I'll bolt some slicks to it

Right now I run a close ratio 1 3/8 input NASCAR Toploader and its a rugged old piece, but 1st gear is too high and 4th is too low, so I am really excited about the 600, but dont want a grenade either

Experience from guys with big inchers and 600's? Thanks in advance

My427stang:

We have sold a few TKO 600 to guys running 700 to 750 hp. Going into it, we told them that the TKO 600 is rated by Tremec at 600 ft/lb. Both guys have had good experence with Tremec in the past and still wanted to go forward with the TKO 600 even though they had that much HP.

Again, for the record the TKO 600 is rated for 600 ft/lb. With the 125 shot you have and going to slicks I would be VERY careful. Tremec makes a great tranny but you might blow it up with what you are running and how you might hit it.

Hope it helps
