Here are some pics from track testing from track testing our 71 Cuda engineering car with our Level II brakes and suspension this past week.

The car worked very well and we were really pleased with the results. The harder the car was pushed the better it worked and higher levels of grip were readily apparent. The 6-piston 14" brakes were also a nice addition.

Dream Car Garage started showing the Level II suspension on this weeks episode and the four post testing and track testing will be on in a few weeks from now.

I also included some better shots of the rear setup that replaces the leaf springs, which some of you asked for. It's a three link setup with panhard bar. Lower links are CNC'd from billet alumiinum and upper link is adjustable to set pinion angle. Panhard bar itself was also done in aluminum and we're running coilovers.

I'll put some pics up shortly of XV001, our first production car, going together.

John That sits so much nicer than the one on d.c.g, I cant wait to see it tested on screen. Will I see it on the taconic any time soon?

from what i can see the rear suspension looks pretty nice. can you adjust the top link (its a 3 link right?) to move your moment center? or is it fixed in position?

Looks good going around the corners. I'd love to see video of it. I always seem to miss Dream Car Garage for some reason. Oh, and I just think it needs a front spoiler for some reason. I have no idea why though.

I would like to know if you have any provisions for a Dana 60 rear with the three link. I have a Strange S60 and have started gathering the tubing and bushing ends to do a 4-bar set up, however, I would consider the three link so I don't have the clutter, exhaust routing, etc. Would it be possible to fab a bracket for the center link that bolts to where the pinion snubber goes?

What size wheels are on the rear?20inchers??

why is the upper link so short in the rear? is the mount only welded to the floor pan? also is the panhard mount on the rearend boxed in? the two tangs that the bolt goes through look pretty flimsy but maybe its the picture? I'd say the front suspension is a lot more impressive than the rear. Also on the front suspension how does it work with the flat aluminum bar bolted to the frame? and the cradle welded to the flat bar? Are those Ohlins coilovers, or afco maybe?

Other than those questions, the car looks killer, nice and flat!

You won't see this one too soon, but XV001 will be running around locally. I have ti get some progress pics up of that car. It should be done in two weeks time.

The upper link is adjustable so that you can change the pinion angle.

We standardized on the 8-3/4" rear for a couple of reasons. Primary was the Dana 60 is much heavier and that doesn't help with handling, and handling was our primary objective. Other reasons were the drop out center section (like on a 9" Ford) to allow easy gear swaps and the availability of a gear drive diff was nice as well.

We've beefed up the 8-3/4 as well w/ alloy axles, nodular iron case w/ billet adjusters, good bearings, etc.

What you are suggesting with a bracket may work, but it's all a function of packaging and I don't know how the Dana compares size wise over the top of the housing. In all likelihood there is a probably way to make it work.

18" wheels.

275/35-18 up front
295/35-18 out back

There is actually room for bigger tires on the back - at least 315's and possibly 335's. We'll try them on another car.

"why is the upper link so short in the rear?"

Packaging. Ideally would have been a little longer, but was verified and tradeoff appears to be negligible.

" is the mount only welded to the floor pan? "

A plate is welded to the floor pan to spread the load and then the mount welded to the plate.

"also is the panhard mount on the rearend boxed in? the two tangs that the bolt goes through look pretty flimsy but maybe its the picture? "

Everything gets inspected after track testing and continued use. Changes are made where necessary. What you see is a prototype. Production will have some changes.

"I'd say the front suspension is a lot more impressive than the rear. Also on the front suspension how does it work with the flat aluminum bar bolted to the frame? and the cradle welded to the flat bar?"

The K-member is fabricated as a unit then bolted to the frame rails. The rear setup still needs better pics and a powdercoated housing, etc. People at the track were really liking the Billet lower control arms.

"Are those Ohlins coilovers, or afco maybe?"

They are made by Dynamic, Multimatic's shock company. They are very serious pieces.

There is a guy over on transamcuda.com who had reproduced the AAR racing spoiler. That would look pretty tough on the front of that Cuda.

Isnt that the car that was on dream car garage last week?

Yes, but it had our Level I Suspension and Level I brakes on it then.

It'll be on with the Level II pieces in a few weeks.

We are on Dream Car Garage every week throughout their 2006 season.

Will there be a level III?

Carbon fiber sub....:fingersx:

I'm still afraid to see how much the level 2 would set me back for my next project.

And if i fallow they use standard c5 hubs, so would the bolt pattern be 5x4.75? also if it uses the stock hub we could probably save a few bucks on the brakes by going elsewhere....
