I just found a 71 or 72 Pontiac Lemans Convertable that was made into a GTO clone. As to the year well I wasnt paying to much attention. Anyway the more I thought about it the more thought what the hell, now I buy her for 12,500.00 which may or may not be a good deal. I looked her over but not real close, I looked under her but again not a real good inspection but I didnt see anything that jumped out at me as being wrong. He was even truthful when he told me it wasnt a GTO. So my delema is where is a good site for these cars, parts, info etc? What shoufl or where should I inspect for a good inspection? I know each car has its problem areas where are the Lemans's? Where is a good place to buy pro-tour suspensions? I have doen a few Camaros but never anything else.
Any other info would be a big help. BTW h it has new brakes, (needs 4 wheel Baer) Flowmaster exhaust system, and a new 455 and Turbo 400. As for the overall condition its straight, no apparent rust, needs new seat covers (seams seperating), Tires, paint ok, top ok, needs a real good cleaning.
Thanks,
Mike

If it is a solid car 12.5 is not unreasonable. I sold a very nicely restored 69 GTO conv. for 40K last August.

Look in trunk and around the convertible boot, usually got water damage, base of windshield and lower quarters. Sounds like it has some nice upgrades 455 and GTO stuff.

Here is a great site for all things Pontiac.
