View Full Version : 73 firebird booster/S-10 MC -rear disc

ok so i did the super chevy rear PBr4 brake upgrade ...everything installed out back now to the front, i have the original 73 firebird booster and bought the 88 s-10 manual master cyl.

the problemn is there is now way this Mc will fit the booster even if i do get it machined down ...

Que is why cant i just get a s-10 booster , or is there another option

please help i need this car finished in the next few weeks

Are you sure it won't fit if you turn it down in a lathe? The S-10 booster may work. I believe it is the same as the 3rd gen booster and I know some that are using it.

You may want to look into the 81 Camaro/Firebird booster. I believe they are the same size as the S10.

The 79(maybe 80) and earlier F bodies used a booster that took a smaller register than the later aluminum masters from 81.

Boosters ususally have some angle built in for the firewall.

Why not use the original master? My 78 had a 1 1/8 cast iron, just be sure to pull out the residual valve under the flair fitting. Or use a 79 Trans Am four wheel disc iron master that should be a bolt in the booster.
