Alright guys,

I'm about to go off to college, and I have an '03 Mustang GT. I like the car a lot, the interior is nice. It is not that fast, but quick enough for me... but it is bugging me a little. There are a couple kids at my school with first gen mustangs who don't really give a rat's ass... just something that they inherited.

I am looking for a "cool" kind of car, preferably with body/paint done that I can drop maybe a stock LS1 in to get some good MPG and FI.

A first gen would be ideal, but that ain't happening for around the price of what I can get for the GT. Maybe '71-'72 Chevelle? A goat? Something I can throw some rims on, maybe a little upgraded suspension. Nothing outrageous?

What do you guys think?

keep the GT, save your money, spend your time at college on college. believe me i speak from experience. 2 hot rods and one drag car build while i was at college turned a 4 year degree program into a 6 year ordeal. but if you gotta have a car, find a turd gen (read third gen) f-body. ls1's fit with a little work, and most of the stock suspension pieces are decent enough for a daily driver, besides theyre readily available and really cheap.

I agree w/ NvrDun71, plus all 1st gen mods and items fit for suspension, so the price is down and selection wide. They can look killer and have a little more room than a Camaro.

Yeah, a Nova sounds good. I'm looking for a car in the late '60s or early 70s. The only problem is - I will need to get my money out of it down the road, and I don't really know the market for them very well.

Thanks guys. I won't be distracted at college, because this car is just gonna be a basic little-suspension + disks car. I'm doing the whole shebang on my '69 now - and I know it would be pretty easy because it is like 1/20th of that beast!
