Heres the set-up.. 383 4 spd. 1.94 heads, stainless valves, bigger cam, eagle rods, 4 bolt mains, KB pistons, 9.5:1 comp.
How's it goin? alright i cant figure out this one, maybe i'm over looking somethin simple... anyways i was gettin on the freeway, shifting from 1-2 @ 4 grand, then when shifting to 3rd @ 3k and CHA CHA CHA CHA CHA it sounded like the header gasket blew...no biggie i thought, but the car felt a little sluggish, but soon got right back on pace, although still making the noise... so i get off the freeway at the next exit, check it out, pop the hood, and as soon as i blip open the carb, the noice goes away. the noise didnt sound like a header gasket when examined up-close. it sounded more mechanical... anyways i get back on the freeway, with the engine running smooth and powerful. 25 miles down the road, the noise is back, although very faint and it feels like it's running rough (almost like a harley engine), less power all around, and the engine feel more off balance if you hold your hand on the aircleaner while its idling... any ideas? sounds familiar to anyone? i'm thinkin its either A) running on 7 cylinders or B) an intake valve stuck open...either way, any help would be appreciated.
