Hi Guys - anybody here capable of spinning this type of rod assembly up for us on a semi regular basis? Let me know, as we just haven't been able to find anybody willing to touch these in quantities less than a 1000 per part, and our needs are MUCH smaller at this time (!). These will be needed in overall lengths ranging from 3.00" to 6.00", and must be consistent in finished form (especially the ball end).

Let me know!

Tell me how many you need at a time and your estimated ordering intervals and I'll getcha a quote in a couple days.

Hi Matt - I'm looking at quantities of about a 100 peices in each size listed below initially, with re-order intervals being the largest question mark (if only for the time being). Possible restock required in 120 day intervals?

3.00 - 3.100 nominal finished length

4.00 - 4.100 " " "

6.00 - 6.100 " " "

Let me know -

Get me closer on the tolerance. Would (for example) 3.050" be perfect? Or 3.000? Or 3.100? +.100" is a HUGE window!!

The finished lengthes listed are absolute min / max - shoot it down the middle if you prefer...

The area that MUST be +/- .001 -.003 MAX is the ball on the end, preferring to accept undersize on the tolerance vs oversize. The necked down area is allowable + / - .020, the threaded area simply needs to be consistent with any off the shelf 3/8 NF device / fastener with appropriate thread depths. We'd prefer to have to finish chase the threads down a micro hair in house vs under tolerance in this area. Threaded area should be 1.750, + / - .100 :spank2:

In summary, the only part of the rod that requires critical attention to sizing is the ball end, followed by attention to general thread depth / quality - all other dimensions are less critical...

Got it. Give me a couple days.

I'll email you with a quote. Thanks Paul!

Would you prefer a rolled thread or a cut thread. It will make a big difference in price. Also what about plating if any? I can give a quote around midweek.

Paul,

Did you have a specific material in mind for the rod? I work with a company with a couple of CNC lathes that could kick those rods out.

The desired material is 1018 cold roll, the threads can be single point cut or rolled - Class II(a) thread quality desired. Plating would be a bonus, and would be strongly considered if it doesn't drive the costs too much higher - zinc dichromate dip or any other decent anti-corrosive / good visual grade plating that won't hamper the tolerances / threads...

Let me know guys! :3gears:
