Whats up guys. Im a little pissed right now as i live in the worst state possible. I just found some news that Mass is trying to pass a bill to outlaw aftermarket exhausts. I know most of you dont live in Mass and you are lucky. What i do know is this is becoming more rampant over the country trying to take our freedoms and passions away. I will post al ink that gives the info on this evil empire. Please post on all the boards you know so that others in Mass will be able to read this and be able to "fight for our right". Our right to have a hobby while there are no laws past to deal with rapists living in our towns or drug dealers pushing junk to our kids. I am sorry to rant here but i am so upset. Please read and copy and post this everywhere you can. Because if they do it to us in Mass it may someday be your state under attack.
P.S. Please make this a sticky and keep it at the top so people will know what the government is tryng to do.

Hey guys,
Thanks. Yea we have politicians in the good ol state of Mass that drive of bridges and kill people and a slap on the wrist but a hobbyist wants to enjoy his life gets punished.
Raceman,
I appreciate your support. My wife and i ar sending emails today and i sent out a email to all my car buds. If we cant stop this they will keep going until we have bills like illonois that state if the car is older than a certain year and cant be garaged it is considered a visual nusiance. yuo can check out or 1 week site that is being worked on everyday. www.musclecarsofnewengland.com (http://www.musclecarsofnewengland.com)

Yeah....actually aftermarket exhaust is already illeagal in almost every state, its just not enforced very often. Check your vehicle code book for "replacing factory exhaust components with aftermarket peices whose intent is to increase noise levels".

OK,

I have a question... Does this apply to ALL vehicles or just NEWER vehicles?? Either way I would have to think that any car that currently has an aftermarket exhaust on it would be grandfathered anyways..

On a side note.. I would think this bill has come about because of the loud obnoxious fart tubes the ricers and importers are putting on their cars. Not my thing but I still believe that IT IS THEIR RIGHT to do so if they want to. Someone may want to contact LOU'S CUSTOM EXHAUST... They do a TON of custom and aftermarket exhaust work and would probably have past and present customers a mile long that would want to hear about this law and contact our representative..

Massachusetts...high taxes, high insurance, strict gun laws, lousy weather, corrupt politicians, and the big dig!! Why do I live here again???

I've read somewhere that all registered cars go through some sort of an anually inspection no matter what year it is? In mass. Is this correct.

Yes all the cars have to go through and annual inspection in order to get their sticker everyyear, BUT they are grandfathered into not having to pass emissions from a certain year on... AT LEAST FOR NOW THEY ARE!!

Step #1:
Quit re-electing Kennedy and his ilk.

Its not the driving off bridges, its the getting away with it that bothers everybody.

Ted Kennedy:Alchy: and that whole Bridge thing :drive2: , Michael Kennedy and that whole RAPE thing :spank2: , Skakel(part of the kennedy clan) and that whole MURDER thing....:wasntme:

Gee anyone starting to see a pattern here?? Yet good ole Ted seems to breeze right by every election!!

Massachusetts... the only state where the difference between liberals and non liberals is the REASONS they give for NOT wanting the death penalty!!

This is nothing New....
Happens every Month through out the Year...every Year.
Session after Session after Session.
Legislators creating Bills, and writing Legislation, is like you and I
going to work every day. The problem is, the types of Bills they
create and the Legislation they attempt to Pass, have become
personal initiatives, by individual Elected officals, relative to personal
Perspectives and Opinions, regardless of whether or not reasonable
and factual documentation exsists, that provides all the necessary
information explaining a particular Products effective function, and
by also meeting or Exceeding any Fed Gov standards.

Its the implementation of imposing ones will upon others.
Regardless of Fact or Fiction.

SEMA does an outstanding job with Regulatory Issues, state by
state. If it wasn't for SEMA, and many small Clubs orgs around the
country, many of those Bills would pass, and see Legislative action.

Get used to it....
I follow it year to year....
It will never go away...
If a particular Bills fails, there will be another one months later,
utilizing different " Language ", and it starts all over again.

We will win some..and lose some.
So Grab a Beer, or perhaps a Glass of Wine and your favorite Snack.
And realize this has been going on for Years...and it will for the remainder of our lives.

By the way...this is how it reads at the very top of that Alert Bulletin.
Massachusetts Bill To Outlaw Aftermarket Exhausts Set Aside for Study

Key words...." Set aside for Study "

SEMA is hopeful that after further Review, the Bill will be Withdrawn.

Don't let it get you Upset..
Just another day in Legislation Land

Sincerely,
Alan
