Just wanted to give you guys a heads up that the Dream Car Garage episode that shows the track testing of our 71 Cuda engineering car with our Level I Suspension and Level I Brakes is on this week.

First airing is tommorrow night at 7PM.

It will air on Speed (all time EST):
Wed 7PM
Thu 7:30AM
Sat 9:30AM
Sun 10PM
Sun 3AM

Car was pushed quite hard so should make for some good TV. I think they will have some before and after footage showing the improvement. Car sounded awesome as well.

The configuration as tested was: 5.7 Hemi making about 440 HP w/ 7,000 RPM redline, 5-speed, upgraded 8-3/4 rear, chassis stiffening, Level I brakes (4 piston 13" up front, 2 piston 13" out back), hydroboost, upgraded steering box, our EFI fuel system, our aluminum rad/electric fan and a bunch more. Level I suspension on the car is all dialed in stock type components w/ custom rates on most of the pieces and optimized to work with modern high performance, low profile tires.

I am going to 4-post testing of our Level II suspension tomorrow and will have pics of that by the weekend. Level II is all aluminum (including the K-Member) SLA double A-Arm, rack, 3-link rear w/ panhard bar and coilovers all around. 4-post is to dial it in. Next week it will be track tested, with bigger brakes as well, and will be shown on Dream Car Garage as well.

Check it out this week on TV, should be a good show if a set-up Cuda getting thrown around a road course is your idea of fun!

BTW, the road course is approx. 1.3 miles long and very tight. The Level I setup over the stock suspension w/340 4-speed, was 13.89 seconds quicker around the track w/ the same driver. As the upgraded Cuda passed the finish line, the stock one was over 1,200 feet behind it.

On a bigger track the difference would have been much more dramatic. We overlayed track data from baseline stock laps and the Level I laps.

I won't miss the show, eager to see the Mopar technology applied in real world driving.

Looks interesting though! I'll try and catch the show.

Well Level II is going on right now and being four post tested tommorrow. Brakes on that up front are 6 piston, w/ 14" rotors, and 4 piston 13" on the rear.

Very nice looking setup and it seemed like the car worked very well.

Curious whos rotors and calipers those are? Brembo/stoptech etc.?

Reason I ask is the calipers look damn near identical to those on the 03+ vipers and rotors look very stoptechish. If they perform anywhere in the same realm it must be absolutely amazing.

Very nice coverage. The car sounds awesome. Is that a 6.1?

Stoptech is doing the brakes for us on a private label basis. They designed our brake system specifically for these cars. We really like their brakes.

We're really happy how well the car worked with the Level I setup - it's still got torsion bars and leaf springs, but everything is dialed in.

That Cuda has our Level II suspension on it now w/ bigger brakes - 14" 6 piston up front and 4 piston 13" out back. It's running 275 up front and 290's on the back - both 18". Should be an animal w/ the Level II setup SLA and 3 link w/ panhard - coilovers all around.

It's getting four post tested tommorrow to dial in spring rates and shock valving for the Level II setup. Once I get back home I will post some pics of Level II suspension. The stuff looks amazing - all in Aluminum - even the K-member and spindles.

Next week that car gets track tested w/ the new suspension setup. There sould be some really great video from that test session - mounts are being fabricated to put cameras under the car front and back to show how the suspension is working.

You got to see the show before I did! When I get back home tommorrow night I'll check it out on Tivo.

It's a mildly worked 5.7 HEMI making about 440 HP w/ cam, headers, rods, pistons, single plane intake and full tune. It did sound great at the track, glad that carried over to the video.

I also saw our first production car today fresh out of paint, beore it was getting color sanded. That one will be getting a hopped up 6.1 HEMI and a worked Viper T56 6 speed. Will look just like a 70 T/A, but with a whole lot of modern goodies.

I'll put some pics of that car up as well, once I'm home.

LOL - that mirror was a real nuisance...

When we're all done with the engineering projects that car will go in for a full rotisserie restoration - and a new mirror :squint:

Glad you enjoyed it.

We're really happy with how the car worked.

That car now has our Level II suspension on it for track testing next week. Was four post tested that setup yesterday - I'll post some pics shortly.
