Can anyone tell me if I need to relocate rear shocks inboard to fit 295/35/18's. I have already rolled fender well lips and have plenty of room for 295's. Basic measuring tells me that shocks will be okay, but I've read some posts that on 67's and 68's you need to relocate shocks to fit 295's and I'm just wondering if that holds true for the 69's. Thanks...

You should be ok with 18's on a 69 with the proper back space. You clearence problem will be with your inner well and maybe your leaf spring.

depending on your car range would be 5 1/2 - 5 3/4" I've used all on past projects. It depends on the car and other variables such as body shift, previous body work, different axle housing widths, different axles, different rotor thicknesses etc etc...

When I get rear axle installed w/rotors, I will determine backspace. To fit 295's, w/out minitubbing, and still have a good working rear suspension, the backspace is going to have to be dead on. I'm going to use Detroit Speed's 2'' 175lb/in springs w/Global West's Del-a-lum solid bushings which will give me approximately 2'' suspension compression before outside edge of tire rubs outer wheel house. This is all theory right now (guessing and lots of measuring) due to the fact that suspension was just ordered yesterday. I may end up cracking under the pressure and settle for 285's.

Its not that big of a deal, once you get your suspension in set it down on jack stands and check your clearances.
Once you figure the backspace you can order your rims.
The hard part is being patient throughout the whole process...but I guarantee that when its finished and it sits the way you like, it will all be worth it.

I agree with Vince, go for the 295's. "You can do it!"
