I need some opinions here guys. I am thinking of getting a different vehicle for my wifey. We now have a 95 Tahoe 2 door that is in great shape, just has 175,000 miles. We also now have a 6 month old! She is not too thrilled that he is getting bigger and that she has to crawl up in the back seat area to put him in his seat and buckle him up since she is only 100lbs herself!
The vehicles I am thinking of are my dad's 03 Escilade with 90,000miles for like $22,000. I don't like the paint (white diamond) and I don't really need another truck, I have a 05 chevy crew cab 2500.
My bro in law has a 05 Magnum RT with big wheels and 24,000 miles. Nice car but wants $27,000 for it. Seems like too much $ for me for what it is.
Next ideas are a used GTO 6.0. I don't know about the 2 door though with the kid. I know it is a car and easier than the Tahoe, but still 2 doors.
The next idea is a used Caddy CTS-V. Awesome car, but don't know much about them and if they are worth the money.
What are some opinions of these vehicles and what will be best for what I am looking for?
Thanks!

I would not get a 2 dr with a kid in a car seat, just a PITA. I am a tahoe/suburban kinda guy and we have worn out two of them so I gotta vote that direction.

If you can swing the jing for the CTS that sounds like your best bet from a practicality wifey loading the anklebiter standpoint.

I know this is none of your choices but I bought a used 2000 4runner last year for 14,000. I got it for my woman. we needed something bigger than her compact car.

Its a limited 4dr v6 2wd and gets over 19mpg freeway and about 16mpg everyday driving. I wanted american but its been great.

But of your choices I would get the CTS. I test drove one and loved it.

I would have to vote for either the Magnum or the CTS. 4 doors and room for other items. I've got 2 girls and the 2 door is definately out of the question. Just a complete PITA. Or how about a 96 DGGM Impala w/ 45,000 for $18,500. (Its worth a shot :fingersx: ). Honestly, I would stick to 4 doors.

I love the CTS-V, but did not know if it was worth the $. If I buy something, I will prolly have it for several years and put several miles on it. I just like (read<LOVE!) the idea of an LS6 with a 6 speed!:box2: Oh, and 4 doors. Just don't know if it is worth the $35,000 or so bucks! Lets see here, the most expensive vehicle I have ever had (other than my pickup which is a "work truck") was a 87 GN that I sold for $11,000. So, anything will be a HUGE step up in payments, espically since I have not had any car payments for about 7 years!
Thanks and keep the info coming!:dunno:

my wife has 03 olds mini van,and she love's it,we have 3 kids and it great.awesome gas mileage.a chevy venture is the same thing.since they dont make olds anymore,or the new uplander.i won't own a 4-door with kids, the van is just to easy, and now that my son plays baseball she can haul his buddies.and my girls dance.

Yep, new Tahoes look great. Are they doing a new Suburban? I heard they weren't.

I have a magnum RT and a 2 1/2 year old with another one on the way. Car has room, but that price of 27K is high...I paid 31K for mine brand new with 1 mile. If he'll come down in price I say go for it...

If your selling that 2 door tahoe, let me know....

I'm not sure which way to tell you to go, Jimmy. But I am awfully happy to see that all your choices are American.

i think you need to let the wife decided, she has to drive it and live with.thats what i did,we all know the saying,if mom's not happy, nobodies happy.4-doors or a mini van are the only way to go with kids, you will end up with one anyway when they get a bigger and do all the kid stuff.

I've always liked Grand Prix's and Bonnevilles (as far as 4 door cars go that is). Some of the new Grand Prix's come with paddle shifters. Just a thought, I know these weren't in the list. Of the list I would go CTS-V but it seems like it is definitely the outlier as far as price goes.

My wife wouldn't go to a four door even with 2 kids. I told her fine but don't ever b**ch to me about having to load them in the car seats. Only caught her complaining once when her back was to me and she shut up as soon as she saw me. If Mama ain't happy, ain't nobody happy. Besides now if Anything happens with her car, Hey she picked it out, not might fault!

Well guys, I appreciate the info and advice (and help offers!). She is leaning more to dads Escalade. But she likes them all. She is alot like me and doesn't want a payment, but also wants something "cool" too! The Magnum kinda scares me just because it is a Dodge, I have heard alot of quality issues of Dodge in general, from friends that work a dealership. I am also not impressed with the service dept. here when my dad had to take his SRT/10 in 4 times telling them something was wrong in the front end. They said it was nothing. Then took it to a friends alignment shop and the freaking ball joint was about to fall out! Then the transmission trouble, but that is another story altogether!
I went and drove a new GTO 6.0 today and I must say it is a cool car! Just no chance of getting a car seat in and out of the back easily. Heck, it seemed worse than a newer Camaro getting in the back! Sweet car other than that though. I can't find a used CTS-V around here to look at though. Anyone here have one?

I don't know how much I want for the Tahoe yet. I want more than it is worth though!:twothumbs It has around 170,000 miles on it and doesn't show that it is worth much according to the book. I would like to get around $6-7,000 for it, but dunno what I can get. It is really nice though. Black, grey cloth, tinted windows and 20" wheels.

For some reason or another, they don't do anything for me. Dunno why, just kind of blah.ya. I like em but there's a lot of cars I'd get first. I fell in love with the new GTO. There's one with the Australian HSV wing on it around here in an incredible blue color. I'm also looking at the Toyota FJ Cruiser, Toyota Tundra 4x4 crew cab v8, Dakota Crew cab v8, and Ford Explorer Sport trac crew cab v8. The Sport Trac I'm thinking to do it all white with white 18" saleen rims from the '99+ SN-95 mustang.
