Hey guys this is what I am starting with, built it over the last few years

Old-ish web page

I run a 427FE with all the usually drag goodies, solid lifters, etc. Close ratio NASCAR toploader, air conditioning, PS, full interior etc.

After going to a show in Bishop CA (driving from Vegas) I realized driving the wheels off the car through the twisties on Rte 168 and the open flats of the Vegas desert is more fun that just having a low geared local driver. So the game plan is in this order:

TKO-600, more balanced tire/wheel package, some real sway bars, soundproof the interior, then convert over to EFI.

I got 13 mpg out of the old girl spinning it 3000+ for over 600 miles, hoping to get it to go faster on less fuel and be more driveable. Thanks and talk to you soon

Found my old post and figured a quick update was in order :)

The TKO swap turned into a 489 build and a TKO, plus sway bars, springs, etc.

Next step is a Mass-flo EFI which is sitting on the bench right now.....or on the tailgate :)

The old girl even got some face time in an FE calendar, and Liz even got me a page in PHR (July Issue). Thanks Liz!

BTW that was one of the few times I stopped and cleaned it enough to be photogenic, been driving the wheels off of the old 489/TKO combo.

Game plan for this fall, EFI, 3G alternator upgrade, push the radiator forward to allow a big Lincoln electric fan, then next year hope to drop compression and hang a centrifugal huffer on the old girl :)

Been playing with another toy too, not Pro-touring by any means, but learned to drive on this one. Been sitting 14+ years, just rebuilt the running gear and gave it its first fresh drink since 1995! BTW, I had a hand written gas receipt in the glove box, 1.19 a gallon last time it had a full tank........................

Thanks guys.

I am really looking forward to getting the EFI on the Mustang. Not sure if it'll be a power gain or just driveability, but either way should be neat and support future changes.

The truck is a forever project too, I've had it longer than my wife and kid :)
