These are the coolest tires I have ever seen!
Bad news is, they don't fit!
I have the DSE deep tubs, with the tire flat against the inner part of the tub, the tire sits right out by the lip of the quarter. I like the way it looks almost flush with the side of the car, but it'll need at least 9-10MM clearance on the inside. I already set my tubs in a few more MM more than recommended, tomorrow I'll get back to the shop and figure out where to go from here.
The pics show the comparison between the 345/30/18s and a Nitto 315/35/17. BFGs run big, Nittos run small. The 315 looks tiny!

Hey Chris,
The tires look killer! I like the "flush" look too so keep the tires out as far as you can, roll the lip a little if you have to, but keep them as flush as possible. It looks like you haven't finalized the rail positioning yet so move them a little more and be glad you got your tires before you did...

Dang those tires are absolutely sick under there!!! Thats a lot of meat! You will find a way to make them fit and when you do get pics from every angle. You could roll the lips to get a little extra wiggle room.

how tall do they measure?

Oh yea, those things look HUGE under there!!!!! I wouldn't want to the unsuspecting (enter make and model) pulling up behind

how tall do they measure?
Running the numbers says they should be a little over 26" tall (26.1). This will vary slightly with rim width but not enough to worry about.

Actually... A 345/35 will be bigger... Same width, just taller. I have a set on 18 x 12's and they measure right at the calculated height of 27.5".

Something is wrong here with your tubs. According to BFG specs, there are only 13.8 wide, which is nearly identical section to 345 / 20s, 335 /30s, and those are tucked all the time. Now leaf spring issues could be another story if it is a leaf spring car, but tub wise they should clear fine. I would look at going deeper with the tubs, trim back somemore rail.

I'm measuring right at 14.5 inches side to side(not tread width) and about 26.25 tall. The tubs are already set in 3" instead of 2.75 like DSE spec'd. I'm getting them to clear by flaring the outer part of the quarter panel and inner wheelhouse another centimeter, shouldn't be too noticable.

Chris,
Do you have the rims you are going to use? 18 x 12 or 13? You need to get them mounted on rims before you do a lot of section width measuring because the rim will suck the sidewalls in. I will measure my 345/35's tonite to give you an idea of what the section width will be on a 12" rim. A 13" rim will push the sidewalls 1" farther out total.
If you run a 12" rim you may not have to touch the fender... Just something to think about.

12" rim is what we always use. I just don't like a rim as big as the tire anyway. As Mark well pointed out, It might be the difference maker

I like a little more tire than rim also. I like the looks of it, plus, with lo-pros, if you rub against a curb, you rub the tire and not the rim.
I'm running 12" wide in the back, but the rims won't be done for a few more weeks, so I don't know how wide they'll be mounted up. I'm going to make them fit how they are, and if they tighten up with the rims, great... if not, whatever.

Nubee here but may have some info of value.
69 Firebird with 390/45 -15 M&H Radials (yea, drag car). Supposed to be 14.8" section width and 29.5" diameter with a 12" rim when aired up.....but now only 14.5" section. Eagerly awaiting Budnik Arrowheads. Fit is "fairly" easy with this tire size with rolled lips. Dependent on final ride height, but it looks like I will have anywhere from 0.375 - 0.625" each side when tread and top 2" of tire is under lip of quarter panel. No plans to bury the entire section width but......will go as low as possible while still maintianing suspension travel for aesthetics. Tried to be as close to std minitub install as possible at 2.75" (maybe slightly larger). Measuring about 16" at largest width on both sides (near centerline, over axle) and approx. 15" at smallest (leading edge).
You have a nice car.

Thanks, I appreciate it! I was measuring around 14" side to side, either my car is different or we're measuring differently.

I am measuring from the quarter panel inner rolled lip straight across to the tub. Is the wheel-well opening width different, outer wheel well perhaps, from a 67-68 versus a 69? I have approx. 9.50" (driver side to pass side is slightly different) from the AL brake drum mounting surface to the minitub (backspace room). Stock width 12 bolt rearend (was supposed to be from a 1st Gen Z28). Rim BS is 8.0", for a total BS with tire of 8.9." I wanted to have 1/2" room for sloped driveways and such....mostly street driven.
Pre-minitub, I had approx. 13" total width at the largest point (centerline above the axle) but I know I "moved" the bottom of the innner well 12 years ago (big hammer, young and stupid) about a 1/4". Was running 12.5" section ET Streets (covered the tire but not the total section width). Finger width room from tire to the outside qtr panel lip (1/2"). Never rubbed, but limited suspension travel set-up (QA1 shocks, floaters, ladder bar, Landrum mono's). With this change, I went with QA1 progressive coilovers.
Hope this helps some.

For a minute, I thought that was the biggest tire that existed! Then I found a 355/25R19 on Tirerack. There cannot possibly be a car tire bigger than that, is there?
