I've searched and found some conflicting tips on what pressure oil filter bypass valves to use w/a remote oil filter. I'm using a Fram HP-6 oil filter and -8 lines. On SDPC.com they say run a 30lb. bypass in the hole off the center of the filter pad and put a plug in the middle passage where the other valve would be. Then they say to run the return oil to the hole on the side of the block above the filter pad.
Greenwood Chevy's site says to put a 30lb. valve in the same spot as SDPC does, but doesn't mention the other valve.
I'm using a Canton oil filter adapter and it has holes tapped for feed and return. It doesn't matter to me which way I run it, I just want it to be proper.
One more thing-is the center hole on the filter pad the side that is sending out the dirty oil or is it feeding the clean oil to the block? The old gen IV's were straight forward, but I don't have any experience with the new blocks and I don't want to mess this up.
