Pro-touring Ranger

Hi guys,
I hope this is in the right forum

I may buy a 2000 ford ranger.
Problem: The truck is an automatic 4X4
Question: Can I take the 4X4 crap off and have a 4X2 truck? What parts will i need to convert this truck form 4X4 to 4X2 Can I reuse the brakes? How much $$$? Has anyone done this before? Any referrals or websites?


I would like to change the suspension over to DJM or Belltech, 18"centerline's, and maybe a turbo

just buy a 2 wheel drive its not worth it to convert, it is possible but i wouldnt

bad idea. Too much work to list. removal of transfer case, all the front suspension. the rear will be setup for 4x4 so it'll be very harsh. Not worth the investment. Search for a 2wd truck to start on.
