I have a 1973 camaro and have installed a 700R4 trans.. The turbo 400 crossmember is suposed to work with the short tailhousing which incorporates the mont.I tried two different repro-crossmembers and niether would line up. Iordered and installed a fabbed crossmember from bowtie overdrives, it fit perfect but now there is no room for exhaust. the tube crossmember centers the subframe up and down. This would mean dropping the pipes lower than the subframe completely, looks bad, bad flow from all the bends, no ground clearance(car lowered 2 inches). Does anyone know where I can locate a factory GM 400 crossmember, or can I cut the mount tab off of the 350 crossmember and reverse sides with it to make it work.
Thanks, Tommy Parker:crying: :banghead:

Tried a repro from NPD and D&R Classic camaro, both were stamped wrong. When I contacted them both said that the last batch they had got in were like that, they had been recieving multiple returns on them.GM dealer says it was discontinued in 1989.

Problem solved. Took measurements with bowtieoverdrives crossmember in, removed it, cut tab off factory 350 member, installed it, bolted tab to trans mount, located according to measurements, tacked in place, removed and then welded.
Thanks for suggestions, Tommy
