Hey everyone, Thought I'd stop lurking, introduce myself and get more involved with this great site. My name is Todd and I am in the Marine Corps. where I am a crew chief for the CH-53E heavy lift helicopter. My project is a 69 camaro that I have owned since 85 and have never had on the road...I bought it in buckets. I was in high school then and didn't have much money to put it back together before joining the Corps. in early 89. In the fall of 88 the car went into my grandfathers barn until Jan of 03 when I pulled it out and cleared it of all the nests of god knows what and delivered it to Detroit speed before I deployed to Iraq. DSE gave it their full treatment of mods and also repaired some sheetmetal that had been hacked on by the previous owner. Surprisingly there wasn't much rust on the car after all that time...Must have been because it was parked on cow manure...LOL. Anyway, I have gained alot of knowledge from this site and I would like to thank everyone for the endless supply of ideas and knowledge that has helped me with some of my decisions as to what I want to do with this car.
Thanks guys...and gals

First off thanks for your service, it sounds like you should have a nice reward for yourself when you get back (or at least the car will have made some progress). You are a patient man to have had it that long and never take it out, it will be so sweet when you finally do.

I thought since oct of 88 was a long time to have my car apart. I've never driven it unless you can count steering it while it was towed to my house from the pawn shop.:hmm: something is wrong with this picture. I'm doing the DSE stuff also. It'll be a self install now if I can just get everyone elses projects out of the way I can do mine. Oh well at least I'm making a few $$$ to buy stuff for mine.

Thanks for the welcome guys! Just want to clarify my original post. I dropped the car off at DSE in Jan of 03 a couple weeks before going to Iraq. When I returned, they were just getting started and I finally picked it up in Jan of 04. I haven't been able to do much with it since then due to deploying to Iraq for a second tour. Recently, I recieved the a pair of 18x12 wheels from Budnik that took 10 weeks to get. Unfortunately, I haven't seen them yet due to a training exercise in AZ. When I return in a few weeks I will be getting the tires mounted and measuring for the rear end. I will try to post pics when able.
