It's the new model taking the place of the cavalier. The Cobalt SS is supposed to be really good, actually. It's set to take on the import market head on. Besides that, Mr. Stielow himself was one of the guys developing the suspension on it. It's supposed to be a great handler.

I think Chevy was looking to compete with the SRT-4 Neon from Dodge with the Cobalt SS.

Say what you want, but it's going to be a great car. Also...GM has heavily invested itself in the aftermarket performance parts segment for these types of vehicles. There will be many performance upgrades that you'll be able to bolt onto these cars as well as the Ion Redline that will give the Neon SRT more than it's share to worry about.

If it wasn't for cars like this, Cobalt/Cavalier, there'd be no Corvette, or no hope for a new Camaro. Just compare the sales figures. Vettes/Camaro's are a small marketplace.

If a college kid, or someone like myself that needs daily cheap transportation, what are we suppose to buy? A new Vette? HA, I wish!
