View Full Version : New Project - 1969 Beaumont
I wanted one of these since i saw one 10 years ago and FINALY got one.
it's a 1969 Pontiac Beaumont Custom from Canada for those who dont know.
this car was exported to PUERTO RICO when new and bought there by a woman who has owned it ever since.
Its been in Puertorico till 2 months ago when her Grandson had it shipped over to GA so he could sell it for her.
Came with ALL DOCUMENTATION , even POP .
it still has up to date P. R. Plates on it .
There was only 12,982 BEAUMONTS made in 1969 and thats counting 2dr hardtops and sedans , 4dr hardtops and sedans , and WAGONS , 4cyl and 8 cyl cars...
Dont know how many 2 dr hard tops there are yet but im researching it.
this one is a 307 / powerglide with AIR.
STOCK ORIGINAL , or PRO TOUR IT ?????
Here are a few pictures ...
I havent even unloaded it yet.

I am all for cutting up cars and usually have no problem doing it but I bet that is kind of a rare find I think I would have to leave it alone

I would have to strongly recomend leaving it un-molested.IMO
I kind of figured it would be that way ...
What do you think about the color combo ... ITS ORIGINAL ...
the car is a LIGHT YELLOW , ( maybe Butternut yellow ) with a WHITE painted top and here's the kicker ... A RED INTERIOR !!!!
Heres a interior shot .
My thought is , this could be 1 of 1 with this color combo ...
I cant believe they would make 2 like it - I KNOW I WOULDNT !
its not to bad and will probably grow on me but it wouldnt have been my 1st choise.

Pro-Tour it and keep all of the OEM parts in the corner. The majority of the P/T parts are bolt on pieces anyway for A-bodies. Slip you an old Kinsler injected Can-Am motor in it converted to EFI and make some noise. HEHEHE

Well, whatever you do with it, it is a choice find and it looks very clean. Maybe keep it original and find a Chevelle of the same vintage to pro touring.

There was 1965 car of the same make at the Detroit Autorama. See Bill Howells pics of the show.
Although its a Chevy on the outside, Pontiac on the inside. Example the dash is from a 1969 GTO. See attached.
Nice find. How about silver on the outside?

Thanks Roger .
This car has all kinds of parts to it and i do need to replace a few things , LIKE THE DASH PAD...not bad , but a couple cracks.
I think im going to keep it stock for now anyways .
i too think its a good find and will be a unique car that will bring a lot of attention at the local cruise ins.
I CANT WAIT FOR THE WEATHER TO BREAK.

I'm with Tubed on this one. Keep all the parts and don't cut anything. Pull the engine and tranny and store them away. Put a 500hp engine of your choice in with 3" exhaust. Get the stock rims widened and keep the hub caps. Don't do a thing to the interior unless its a set of hidden gages. You would have one hell of a super sleeper that anyone could appreciate.

I can honestly say I have never seen one before these picture.
I would keep it like it is. better yet I would call Barrett Jackson and run it thru the auction block. Its got to be pretty rare.
Robert .
I would say they are fairly rare and no , you dont see them very often , IF EVER.
i spotted one in INDY at super chevy aprox 8-10 years ago and had not seen another one till the Kruise Auction in Auburn IN last year ... then i spotted one in Pigeon Forge TN at the Grand run last fall..
If you do a search on ebay , THEY ARE THERE.
they also made a NOVA LOOK A LIKE , called a ACADIAN . same basic look , NOVA , with Pontiac style.
I an see by the reactions i get from the car , ITS GOING TO BE A COOL CAR TO DRIVE AROUND !
you guys need to come to Canada they are sitting on every corner! hehe. Nice car. They are rare but can be found. Problem is the ones that stayed in Canada are all rusted out.

I would take the best of both worlds. Keep it stock looking on the outside/interior but update the suspension, wheels and drivetrain. Just my opinion.
HEY CHET ... since there on every corner , can i talk you into getting some parts for me .LOL
there are a few here in the states but like you said , finding one that is pretty much RUST FREE isnt easy ...
I just got lucky and was persistant with the ebay seller.
